Summary: It is not a bad strategy game, but is not good either. And having in mind how long it took to get in done, and how huge the fan base od original JA is (they could limit marketing spending to zero and even then fing millions of potential buyers), a mediocre game is not an option.
Summary: Definitely a deviation from the JA series but is an ok game in it's own right. By far, my biggest complaints are with the AI. Your soldiers are absolute morons and can't do anything without being micromanaged.
Summary: Pros: Very nostalgic; many returning characters and familiar feel. New plan and go system is a nice change. Good sound, great VO, and the graphics get a 7/10. Cons: CRASHES ALL THE TIME!! Have to use Steam to launch this SINGLE PLAYER TITLE. Difficult learning curve (even for JA vets).
Summary: Ok, Look I love jagged Alliance and have played them all since the late 90s but I have to say I do not like Steam! I do not like owning a game and being ambushed into using them or I cannot play the game. I understand piracy issues but just like the great game Shogun 2.
Summary: I'm old school and was drooling over the next JA incarnation after playing the demo. First the good: The new combat system works well (though I do still prefer turn based). It's fun and does require strategy. Has much of the old school feel in terms of characters and play style.
Summary: The biggest problem of this game is it's name. The original Jagged Alliance 2 is just such a big and popular game that it's incredibly hard to compete with, especially if you make a remake and remove most of the critical gameplay elements.
Summary: Jagged Alliance 2 was released in 1999. During these 13 years countless sleeping hours were lost by a legion of faithfull fanatics of tactical turn based modern day small units mercenary combat.
