Summary: This game is for advanced gamers only. The original game software was defective and is made operable only by downloading and integrating an aftermarket add in. Even with the add in my machine was not powerful enough to handle the code and provide a usable game.
Summary: This was to be a Christmas gift for my son. For some reason this was the top of his list. So when I purchased it at the beginning of Dec. I was led to believe it would arrive well before Christmas. Not only did it not arrive before the 25th it has still not shown up. The seller has not responded to any of my E-mails. I have never had an issue with purchases on Amazon, until now.
Summary: Should have made this for wii like they did Pikmin 1. Actually they did, but never released it in USA. Wish nintendo released it in USA which would have made game more accessible here to more people. Now limited availablility leading to people taking advantage and selling at ridiculous prices on here (and sometimes slightly better on ebay or at local places selling used games).
Summary: My first thought when I started up the game was "this does not look like any other Ubisoft game I've ever seen". When I bought this game I thought it would be some awesome, easy, cool WW2 fighter plane game. It is a WW2 fighter plane game, but the controls are very VERY complex. I CAN'T EVEN PASS THE TRAINING MISSION!!! I have a Xbox 360 controller receiver hooked up to my PC. But, this game does not support Xbox controllers.
Summary: I have been unable to use the Yoke because I am unable to attach it to my desk, drawer or anything else. The clamping devices are unrealistic. Either I have to build something to attach the Yoke on or cut apart the clamp units with a hacksaw and then attach it to my desk top with the center drawer opened. That will then put me at a great distance from my screen. In words of a syllable, I'm very disappointed in the product.....
Summary: I bought this for private pilot training. All of the switches, throttles, etc. are easy to set up and use. The problem is the quality of materials makes this unsuitable for training for piloting a real plane. After a short time the internal friction builds up so that it is impossible to get the yoke to center. This means that it is not possible to get a plane trimmed out and the pilot must make constant attitude adjustments.
Conclusion: As the other review has mentioned a patch is out but it does *NOT* fix all the bugs. ( probably a fanboy response) Its ok for Multiplayer but the single player is dreadful, no dynamic campaigns which in this day and age is bad management. The IL2 community will probably pull something out regarding dynamic campaigns. Looks nice but so does an FSX spitfire.
Conclusion: For a game so long in development (5 years !!) this was rushed at the last minute to get some money back,no campaign, halve a dozen single missions, the graphics of the aircraft is impressive but the countryside doesn't look much like England, the sound used is from previous il2 games, they promise a big patch soon to correct the countryside and a new sound engine then hopefully they will move on to a proper campaign so it will finally feel like the game it should of been...
