Build your own Casino

paer84, Ciao
8 July 2011
  • Excerpt: "...out in a small dump Casino with nothing in it you have some money and it´s time to get going. As you start to buy slotmachines, blackjacktables, securitycameras etc. customers start popping in. The first level is really easy and you have a few goals to reach. As soon as you reach your goals you get the choice to move to a better casino or stay and play in the sandbox mode. When you continue you always move up to a better casino but the goals get tougher ...
  • Pros: Fun, easy
  • Cons: Same same

Casino empire - not really a gamble

Faye1984, Ciao
30 March 2006
  • Excerpt: "...of the three. At a glance, Casino Empire looks extremely good. The game is very colourful and with such hugh casinos there is plenty of space to fill it with many slot machines and card tables. The game has a bar at top of the screen that shows important notices to your attention, such as the casino has lots of rubbish, patrons are being beaten up etc In order to maximize your cash flow and casino rating, you need to attract lots of new customers ...
  • Pros: Easy to lose time while playing
  • Cons: too easy

Interesting introductory strategy game!

Jordan "twlfthnght", Amazon
3 June 2005
  • Summary: This game is a good one for those who don't have the time or initiatve to get into an in depth tycoon game (and frankly, this game is better then Casino Tycoon that is also available). The characters within the game are interesting and funny, and in true Hoyle fashion there's the nice feature of hosting poker or blackjack turney's later on in the game. Overall, a nice deversion game that beginners - gamers will enjoy.

Casino Empire: again and again and...

tby4, Ciao
10 May 2005
  • Excerpt: "...side of things for intance. Casino Empire has a lot of sevices and games and decorative items for you to play with, but for some reason, there never seems to be enough. Value For Money: I'd say that at the prices you can find it now (£5 pounds someplaces - ten pounds on the high street) you're definatley getting value for money. On the other hand i bought it for £20 nearly when it first came out, and i think that i paid a little too much for it. ...
  • Pros: good fun, easy to play but still challenging
  • Cons: predictable, get bored before the end of campaign

Definitely Entertaining

Jordan "twlfthnght", Amazon

  • Summary: I really liked this game, but it does have it's limitations. You usually run out of room to put in services (i.e. Cashiers, Restrooms, Cafe's, etc.) and your patrons can get a little cranky. The game is definitely challenging in that time goes by fast, so you definitely have to keep on your toes to finish the scenarios.

It's ok

"pimperoni", Amazon
21 November 2003
  • Summary: This game is pretty cool at first. There is a lot of graphic detail in regards to the casino and the games. You are given a lot of control over the table game prices, locations, payouts, etc. The only problem is there are only 8 casinos you get to play, with specific goals to accomplish. Or you can play freestyle. The casino interior cannot be changed, and so you run out of space for placing things like buffets, restrooms, etc.

Who wouldn't want to own a casino?

red_lili, Ciao
13 September 2003
  • Excerpt: "I recently bought Casino Empire from my local "Game" store for a bargain price of £4.99. Having no games console like a playstation or such like, I thought I'd try out a PC game for a change.......mainly because I have too much time on my hands! I have played similar games before like theme park and zoo tycoon etc and have loved them...my only problem is that I get too addicted, but I thought it was worth the risk!(I once started sleep talking ...
  • Pros: Very fun and addictive !
  • Cons: Over too quickly

User-friendly...

Sherrie L. Mukherjee, Amazon
8 September 2003
  • Summary: Hoyle's Casino Empire is a user-friendly version of the "Tycoon" games. While not as complex, you should be able to advance with little reference to the manual -- something you can't do with the "Tycoon" games. One criticism I do have is that it's fairly simple -- could have been more complex in what YOU control; and would have liked to see more different options in restaurants, etc. that could be added. But, for an afternoon of casino fun; it will suffice.

Decent, but limitted playability

bkuhn "bboz", Amazon
15 August 2003
  • Summary: As Tycoon games go, this one is probably a bit above the average of late. Most seem to be junk re-hashes of the same game with different graphics. This one is pretty decent (not to the level of a SimCity or RailRoad Tycoon), but much better than things like Underwater Tycoon, that appear targetted at rather young <13 players. There is a progression that you go up in getting bigger casino's to develop and goals set for you.
