Hitman: Contracts

Gameguru Mania
17 November 2004
  • Excerpt: Hitman: Contracts is third installment in the Hitman series which takes you into the mind of a ruthlessly efficient contract killer, showing the action and the world through the eyes of Agent 47. Once again you assume the role of Agent 47, a skilled assassin who is rewarded for completing contract killings as cleanly as possible, without hurting innocent civilians or being caught. Personally, I'm glad that the original Hitman is back.

Hitman: Contracts

Game Over Online
31 May 2004
  • Excerpt: Third verse, same as the first. When I die I’d like the life that flashes before my eyes to be filled with sweet, gauzy scenes of misspent youth – days at the beach, playing with my dogs, hikes in the White Mountains, and alcohol binge weekends with Britney and Beyonce. In Hitman: Contracts the character known only as 47 gets no such luxury.

Hitman Contracts

GamersHell.com
5 March 2004
  • Excerpt: Being a professional assassin is far from the safest job on the market. Our hero, by the name of 47 gets intimately familiar with this fact during the game’s opening cinematic sequence. We see him stumbling into some small room, only to fall over. Did karma finally catch up with the seemingly invincible character? Well, Hitman Contracts starts off where the first game ended. You had just killed a nasty scientist, leaving a trail of dead hitman clones in the hallways.

Hitman: Contracts

ActionTrip

  • Conclusion: So does this mean you should pass up on the opportunity to play Hitman: Contracts? I would recommend against it. A lot of what was good about the Hitman games still plays a major role in "Contracts". Your decision should also be based on how fond you are of the series and whether or not you're prepared to bump up the difficulty level to Expert.
  • Pros: Great art design and ambience, sound effects, musical soundtrack, plenty of things that were good about the previous games, potential for clever assassinations;
  • Cons: The core technology looks dated, certain design blunders make some of the game's biggest advantages almost redundant.

Hitman: Contracts

Empire Online
11 October 2005
  • Summary: Hit man Agent 47 may have been little more than a relentless killing machine in his previous console escapades, but this time fans of the cue ball assassin have a chance to learn more about his violent past. Playing like a classic film noir, the adventure opens with the surly antihero hiding out in a Paris hotel room, doped out of his head on painkillers while recovering from gunshot wounds.
