Hitman: Contracts – Review

GameCritics.com
16 May 2005
  • Excerpt: Five minutes. That's the amount of time I spent peering through the keyhole in a hotel room door while watching a bellhop (dressed only in his underwear) and a female hotel guest have a conversation. It was obvious that I was bearing witness to a seduction of some kind.

Hitman: Contracts

Game Over Online

  • Excerpt: Third verse, same as the first. When I die I’d like the life that flashes before my eyes to be filled with sweet, gauzy scenes of misspent youth – days at the beach, playing with my dogs, hikes in the White Mountains, and alcohol binge weekends with Britney and Beyonce.

  • Excerpt: Between the title and the lengthy ESRB rating descriptor (Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs), you can pretty much tell what Hitman Contracts is all about.

Agent 47's Greatest Hits

GIN
7 July 2004
  • Excerpt: Eidos Interactive's definition of a contract: A death warrant for the damned. The terms of execution? A binding proposal of interest between two conspiring parties, usually both financial and/or strategic. You can define a contract as you so please, but if you're the target it only means one thing.

Hitman: Contracts

ActionTrip

  • Conclusion: So does this mean you should pass up on the opportunity to play Hitman: Contracts? I would recommend against it. A lot of what was good about the Hitman games still plays a major role in "Contracts".
  • Pros: Great art design and ambience, sound effects, musical soundtrack, plenty of things that were good about the previous games, potential for clever assassinations;
  • Cons: The core technology looks dated, certain design blunders make some of the game's biggest advantages almost redundant.
