Hitman: Blood Money

The stealth video game Hitman: Blood Money, developed by IO Interactive and published by Eidos Interactive, was released in the United States on May 2006. This multi-platform game, available for the PC, Xbox, Xbox 260 and the PlayStation 2, is the fourth game in the Hitman franchise.

Hitman: Blood Money has several new features that enhance the gameplay. Foremost of these is the new game engine called Glacier, which is responsible for the improved graphics. Other new features include the ability to use non-player characters (NPCs) as shields as well as significant improvements in the climbing and unarmed combat systems.

In Blood Money, the gamer plays as professional hitman Agent 47. As a hired assassin, the player is sent out to kill a single target or a group of people. These contract killings can sometimes be performed in crowded civilian areas (an element new to the Hitman franchise). The player must strive to perform the hits as cleanly as possible, with the game rewarding the player for stealthiness. With Blood Money’s “Notoriety” system, the player will also be penalized for making too much noise and drawing too much attention to himself. As Agent 47s notoriety increases, NPCs will be able to recognize the player quicker, making missions harder to complete stealthily.

System Requirements

Hitman: Blood Money requires at least an Intel Pentium 4 1.5 GHz or AMD Athlon XP equivalent processor, a DirectX 9.0c graphics card with Hardware TnL and Pixel Shader 2.0, 512 megabytes of RAM and either a Windows 2000 or XP operating system.
