Summary: Excellent music, cool graphics, and a fun story line, but you need a screen the size of your living room wall to play well. The items are extremely well hidden in the scenes and the majority of them were either tiny or nearly transparent.
Summary: I found the beetles and hidden objects hard for me to spot. I couldn't play too long at one time because of the graphics. The music, storyline and puzzles were fine. But I did need the walkthrough to finish some of the puzzles.
Summary: This is a fun HO game with some puzzles thrown in to keep up the challenge. Some of the puzzles require thinking about. The graphics are good and the story is told in a humorous way. Checking out to get the bugs in each HO screen also keeps the fun going.
Summary: Amazon is one of my favorite HOGs. People have written elsewhere about its many strengths, which I wholeheartedly endorse. What's cool about it is that it's very immersive, so you get lost in the scenes as you're hunting for the objects.
Summary: Some of the objects are hidden so well, it's almost impossible to find them. (The recycling sign in the market of Casablanca comes to my mind.) Anyway, the game is good and challenging, the professor's journal is very funny.
Summary: Not bad, not bad at all. I tried this when it first came out, and somehow, it failed to grab me. However, now that the latest installment of the Hidden Expedition series (Devil's Triangle) has gotten me hooked, I thought I'd go back and try some of the earlier games.
Summary: The Hidden Expedition games (this one is the third in the series) keep getting better and better! Superior graphics and an interesting (and unusually for a HOG, coherently plotted) storyline lift this one above the competition. Well worth playing.
Summary: Overall I like this game. There are a few areas where I think it needs to be improved. The games in the middles of a sequence, going from one to another are very confusing; there are no indications as to what you're supposed to do and what it is that you need to accomplish.
Excerpt: Games for the PC for me have to be very good to keep me going until the end and this game actually manages to help me achieve this target. The game is named Hidden Expedition Amazon and the reason as people might assume is that it is set around the Amazon yet in some ways you would never know this.
Pros: There is a story to follow and plenty of things to do
Cons: Perhaps finding the hints is a bit difficult
