Summary: If you liked H&D 1, you will like this even better. The graphics are some what better than the earlier version. There are a lot more scenic missions to complete. However, the challenge is a little bit less compared to the previous version probably because the helping soldiers are a little smarter in this version. In harder levels, the challenge is more due to limited saving ability rather than gameplay. I didn't like that concept.
Good game, good interface and gameplay but a few bugs
6 June 2006
Summary: This is a good game with better graphics and animation than the first H&D. Some of the scenes like the one inside the submarine for example, are very good and so are the scenes inside buildings, etc. The interface is good once you're used to it (having the cheat codes help). My only gripe is that there are a few bugs. For example when your team mates (bots) are crawling together, they get tangled up and one even ends up hitching a lift on the other soldier's back!
Summary: If it weren't for the quirky squad AI, this would be a five-star game yet I highly recommend it in smite of that. This game is a classic in my book. It's better to play this on Lone Wolf campaigns. The squad AI is too annoying for me. For example, if you tell a squad member to follow behind you, most of the time they will get ahead of you.
Summary: The only thing better about HD2 compared to the original gem is the wholescale destruction of game crashing bugs. Yep, HD2, out of the box, has been crash proof for me. Played over the weekend, finishing it, and not once was I booted to windows or had any significant bugs. The only glitch I noticed was how your character had the most difficult time going through doorways while sneaking.
Summary: This game rocks. As far as gameplay, it is as good as it gets. My only gripe is all the patches, and that if one doesn't have the same patch upgrade, their may be issues on connecting to some of the servers. That said, I had very few bugs in the single player game, and only the patch issue for multi-player. I think this game blows away MOH and is graphically better than BF 1942, though BF 1942 is fun to play as well.
Summary: all the morons saying this game is unstable are clearly ignorant. Two things you need to keep updated ya bunch of idiots. 1) The game like all other games has bugs, so you need to update it with the autopatcher it comes with. Simple huh? End of problem. 2) Those saying their computers are fast, as in 2ghz and all that clearly don't realize that the actual graphics processing takes place in the video card which means you need to UPGRADE your pos video card in order to...
Summary: This game is hard. You will die many times and have to keep playing the same level. That said, the game is incredibly addictive, has some of the best ambient noise around and the use of motion capture makes the soldiers move like real soldiers. The reason for the difficulty is the ultra-realistic one hit can kill you idea, combined with rather accurate enemy fire.
Hidden and Dangerous 2 - Hard time being a war hero.
30 November 2010
Excerpt: Sometimes listening to friends about hard games might finish badly like it did to me, I could not believe that this game might be so hard and interesting. Call of Duty, Medal of honor are not so interesting as this one. Altough i should not compare those titles because the main way of playing HaD2 is team-based, where you give orders to your allies or you switch with them along the mission, for each one you choose the equipment which is massive, loads of weapons,...
Excerpt: Despite this being listed in the strategy section of the forum, it's largely an action game. You have various troop classes such as grunt, spy, sniper, medic etc. There is also a slight RPG feel to the game as there are roughly seven stats however when it comes to weapons unlike other games which may differ between light and heavy weapons this doesn't.
Pros: Graphics, sound and gameplay are poor in comparison to newer games in this genre
Cons: It's a half decent game if you can get it for less than £5, otherwise go newer
Summary: I have a P3 733Mhz antique with a 32MB graphics card, & this game ran fine, it took a while to learn all the keys but I realy enjoyed playing this, I finished MOH & all expansions, & Call of Duty, but I keep coming back to H@D2 to try different ways of completing the missions & with different characters, not the best but game ever but not as bad as some will lead you to beleive
