Summary: I was/am a Hearts of Iron 2 junky. I can definitely see where in certain areas this game is an upgrade from 2, but for some reason, I'm having a hard time getting into it nearly as much as I did 2. It might just be a case of where I'm TOO used to 2.
Hey it's Paradox , you can't go wrong with them ....

Summary: i'm currently playing a game as Japan (well actually several games ) .... Things start out good for me , i usually take over China by 1938 , then i start preparing my forces for war .....usually what ends up happening is that by 1939 when Germany goes to war against Europe , the US enters as well ...( this could also be due to the fact that i've been very beligerant in China ) .... anyways , i whip the USA and Great Britian until about 1940 ....
Summary: I love this game, I played the basic version a few times over the past years and now that I could get the complete edition for 15$ here at Amazon, I got it right away. If you want to know how WWII could have been won (oh, I know it was won, I mean for the other side, with the little cross) you need to try this out.
Summary: I should stop writing reviews like an a-hole. It's great to see the way HOI 3 is gradually taking shape. It's a very ambitious project. It is taking a long time but the wait (and price) is easily worth it. A grand game is gradually forming. Buy this! Support the best team making the best grand-strategy WWII game!
Summary: If you are interested in divisional level WW2 operations look no further. TFH is the latest update to Hearts of Iron III (you need to have the HOI3 series up to For the Motherland). Be prepared to spend some time reading player's AAR (After Action Reports). It can seem overwhelming at first. Persevere, as it is the multi-levelled complexity that makes this an intriguing game to play. Re-playability is a strong point. Strongly recommend joining the Paradox forum.
Summary: My System Specs: Windows 7 64 bit, Intel i7-920 processor, 6 gigs RAM, Radeon 5870 video card. Basically a machine from 2009 or 2010. Game Installation: Flawless Internet connection: Only needed for updates. My version did not require Steam. Game Performance: Flawless; Graphics: None to speak of, but appropriate. Consists of Map and Information Panes; Sound: Very basic, but appropriate User Interface: Non-standard for a non-standard game.
Summary: HOI3 is a fantastic addition to Paradox's arsenal of games. Although it had a rough release, the game with included expansions is in a very playable state and is a great simulator of the second world war. The only criticism I have is the sparseness of the tutorials, but fortunately there is an excellent wiki and community forum to help newbies learn the ropes.
Summary: Paradox keeps releasing expansions for HOI3 that dont add much apart from a couple of forgettable features and some fixes that belong in a patch. Semper Fi was decent (mainly due to the AI improvements) but this is just a joke. HOI3 is a great game when modded. There are modders that invest great deal of their time trying to fix what Paradox did wrong.
