Summary: First of all: I do not know the other "Haunted Hotel"-games, so i cannot decide on whether this one is better or worse than the others. I just liked this one. It made me - and kept me - very curious about what happened and how to help the brother. I liked the graphics, I liked very much that the hint tells, what to do next, I did even like some of the mini-games, which after you have solved them, tell you "I am just good at this":-) and i also liked very much that the...
Summary: Hmmm, OK but nothing special. I won't repeat other comments, but the biggest complaint I have is that you have to find ingredients for a lot of elixirs and other concoctions. As a result, the inventory can get quite large and unwieldy, and you have to hold many items for long stretches of the game. There's no sense of finding an object then having a good sense how to use it.
Summary: If you prefer point and click adventure games as opposed to hidden object games, but want something casual and not extremely challenging, this game is for you! The hidden object scenes in this game are few and far between. There are many varied locations, not just a hotel to explore. The game is much more focused on collecting and using items. Make sure you explore all locations thoroughly as there are many hidden things to pick up.
Summary: This next installment in the Haunted Hotel line fails to deliver much excitement. While it trys to keep with the same storyline as the others, it comes off feeling disjointed and is played a little differently without all the inventions, etc. I did purchase it since I had the others but I would have been better off waiting for the regular edition instead of the ce.
Summary: A HO puzzle adventure following a typical dark story based on "I need to be immortal". Liked :) - reasonable interesting story that will keep you on going - true adventure like feeling - construct objects in the inventory - good graphics and sounds Not liked :( - absent map and mostly not useful journal (a bunch of scrolling pages you have to gather) - too many unlock the door puzzles On the neutral mark the game also features a bunch of achievements mostly for solving...
Summary: From Specialbit Games comes another nod to H.P. Lovecraft in the form of an adaptation of his short story The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. This iHOG is very adventure heavy, puzzle-heavy, with a smattering of HO scenes. Befitting a Lovecraft story, the atmosphere is sinister and gloomy, the music is melancholy, and the theme is necromancy.
Summary: I'm sorry I even spent the very-reasonable sale price for this disk. The intro story for this game is boring and unbelievably long--really, really long! The graphics are only so-so; options are limited; mini-games are...well, irritating comes to mind. I thought it was a seek-and-find game; but, the designer seems to have lost his/her way and decided to create a collection of very poor games with a few seek-and-find scenarios thrown in for good measure.
Cons: Boring, Hard to Learn, No Multiplayer Mode, Poor Instructions
Summary: I played this game after playing the Haunted Hotel III: Lonely Dreams and found this one to be awfully boring. It just seems like it goes on and on with the same routines after awhile. The dialog was translated poorly and too lengthy. It could have been a much better game if it had better graphics and a more interesting storyline. Playable but not that enjoyable.
