Quite possibly the most overrated video game of all time.

Excerpt: Halo, or to give its full title Halo: Combat Evolved was the first instalment in one of the most enduringly popular video game franchises of the decade. Its appeal has spawned numerous sequels, animated films and a whole wave of fervent adulation that I felt that I was missing out on something...
not worth getting unless you really like the Halo story and want to try the first one.

Excerpt: The succes of Halo and the sequals stems in part from the fact that it was one of the first first person shooters for the X-Box, while the story has great pottential the levels proved linear and often bland, the plot twists so hilariously over the top once you stop to think about it, the great thing...
Excerpt: The game that sent the xbox on its way to success has come to p.c, the question is, will it be as successfull....The answer is no. This is because even though Halo is a great game on the Xbox, on the p.c nothing has changed.
Excerpt: Halo: Combat Evolved. There are several meanings of 'evolved' on Dictionary.com, but the ones I assume are used in the title of this game is "To develop or achieve gradually" or "To undergo gradual change".
Summary: This version of Halo is really frustrating. In addition to all the other frustrations voiced, the online play is horrendous. It is the slowest first person shooter online of any game I've played. And I've played a ton of them. I had a straight ethernet hookup to my campus's network.
Summary: Console gamers have been raving about the Xbox version of Halo since its release. Having followed the game since it was announced on the PC around the same time as Black and White (read: several years ago), I expectantly picked it up for the PC when it came out.
Summary: I have discovered the reason Halo, the most overrated game of all time, got so popular. Consoles have a real lack of good FPS (first person shooter) games, due to the wacky controlers that make it impossible to aim without autoaiming.
Summary: its hard to explain the reasons behind the sucess of halo, primarily because as a game its flawed in so many ways as to make it not worth your time. i wont even try to begin to guess why its so popular.
Summary: this is a great game...on the xbox. because on the xbox it can play. on the computer it struggles to the point where the fun dies. either you have it look horrible so it lags less (keep in mind, it still struggles) so you can play it, or you turn up the eye candy and slow down to 10fps when you fire...
