Summary: First, I inserted the disc, installed and added the serial key when prompted by the game NOT BY GOING TO GAMES FOR WINDOWS LIVE, that could possibly void the game. do not go out of your way to make it work, just follow the on-screen steps your given and you should be fine. Afterwards i downloaded my LIVE profile, again, i was PROMPTED to do this in game i didn't have to go to a website or anywhere else, this part, though, is why i give it a 4, it literally took an hour...
Summary: I love playing Halo. I got a new computer but lost the CD case with the Key. Even though I loaded it to my computer I was not able to get the key so I bought another game. I am disappointed that they are no longer making Halo programs for the the new Windows 8 operating system.
Summary: So I have windows 7 and I bought this game because I LOVED the original Halo: Combat Evolved PC game. Bought from amazon, installed it, tried to run it, but kept getting an error message about windows live failing to initialize. Spent hours online looking for a solution that would work for me, tried them, and they didn't work on my computer. Apparently this is a HUGE problem with this game among players on Windows 7.
Summary: It was hard downloading... And once it did, i got some windows live problem. I've looked it up online, and the problem requires me to reinstall the game all over again. I'll do that soon, but I bet this is a good game.
Summary: This game is buggy. Badly buggy. You need to update it before you can play it proper and the update process can be buggy. For example, I got into an update loop that randomly fixed itself when I minimized the game while patching. Also, one needs to be able to go into their control panel graphics settings to force Vsync (and AF for prettiness) or else the game stutters and vertically tears and the mouse sensitivity disappears. After that though, I was all set.
Summary: Great game! Significantly improved from the first one. The only issues I've had with this game thus far is the fact that it only works on Vista. I had to scour the internet for days to finally find a non-torrent download that allowed me to play the game on the XP. And there's no patch at all for Windows 7. Gameplay-wise, it's awesome. The plot is much more in-depth then the first game, and when used properly, the duel-wield mode is very enjoyable.
Summary: There is a lot of hype when it come to Halo, and one can run into the danger of letting that hype give you high expectations... DONT LET IT! I am not saying that halo is a bad game, it isnt. But I would say that it is just a game, there isn't anything REALLY special about it. So dont go into playing it without a "i just want to have fun" attitude. If so, you will have fun. Its multiplayer on the other hand... well, it is a lot of fun...
