Summary: My son bought the Halo game and installed and played fine. No problems. Then came this one. It required us to install the Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace. We tried to install it over and over with no avail. Then, I read on-line that you need to install the MGWM. Aargh. I hate having to put programs on the computer just to play a game. This is why I don't play PC platform games. Best thing about console games (PS3, PS4, etc.
Summary: This was a wonderful nostalgia trip that was enhanced by the advantages of being on PC like better graphics, running at a better FPS, and the convenience of having mods at hand. It was just like playing it on Xbox, only much more fluid. Why I don't give it a 5 is because of the fact the game wouldn't update. It would give me an error message that apparently no one can answer straightly.
Summary: It took me awhile to get the graphic settings tweaked so that it would work on my machine, but it seems to be running well now. I'm not overly thrilled with the model of paying to play online against other people when I compare it to Halo Combat Evolved, but I do enjoy the added animate and physics effects they added in this game when compared to the first game. Glass breaking, crates tipping over, the elites climbing up on things.
Summary: When buying this game, you might have an invalid product key. THat's what happened to me. They JUST stopped supporting the game a month ago. After calling customer service which was about 2 to 3 hours I finally got a key that worked. USING WINDOWS 7 I used Windows 7 and it came up with an error after install. If you just google the error, you'll be linked to a fix on Microsoft's site. OR download Games for Windows Live. That usually will fix it.
Summary: I bought Halo 2 because I didn't have an XBox and it was cheap. I installed it and had a lot of fun, but only after turning the quality down to low, resolution to its minimum (800 x 600), and disabled all of the nice video features like anti-aliasing and high refresh rate to make it run at a reasonable speed. Plus, I had to do a whole lot of tweaking... PROS 1). The game is pretty darn awesome. Campaign and multiplayer are terrific (yes, people still play on LIVE).
Summary: I love the Halo series and have been a big fan since the original came out on Xbox. However, after playing through the campaign I encountered performance issues and it really takes the fun out of the game. Now some people will probably think, "well your computer sucks too much and can't run the game that's why you have performance issues." I assure you my pc doesn't suck and was in fact built for gaming.
wanted to play it online with my xbox to usb controller
1 February 2011
Summary: I liked how nice the game looked on the pc vs xbox. i wanted to play it online, with a xbox to usb with an adapter... but when i wen't to play the game instead of shooting with the R button, it was the L3 button... and instead of hitting with the b its now the x button.. and the x is y... its not the controller or the driver settings... because my other games work fine... its just the halo 2 for pc game settings for a controller are incorrect.
Summary: Halo2 is a game designed to run on Vista ONLY. However Microsoft has added some code to Windows7 to allow you to run it there. It is a fun game in the Average plus range almost to good, but not quite. It is not in the same league as COD:Black Ops although it is better than the Original Halo. I bought the game to see just how it would fare at a LAN Party and I think it might be OK although todate I have been playing through the single player portion first.
Summary: I looked the review of some gamers that played this game... And the game's rating is so low... I don't know if it's good but I know that all the microsoft games are the best games that we can play. Halo 2 is a game that you need to beat the convenants and this could lead us to a interesting world.
