Summary: This is a really great game, I gave it 4 stars due to the fact that it's not really very emersive, it's a point and click fighting system the action is done for you, aside from that I really love this game but if you intend on playing with friends I suggest using a third party program for voice chatting so you can strategize
Summary: If you are planning of purchasing Guild Wars, or any of the expansions, from Amazon.com, be advised: DO NOT BUY IT USED! The access key card, which will have been used already, is NON-TRANSFERABLE and you WILL NOT be able to install the game. Thankfully, the vendor that I purchased my game from refunded me, but that may not be the case with you.
Summary: I had been wanting to get in to MMORPG's for a long time, but hated the fact that you had to pay a monthly fee. That is why I was glad to fine Guild Wars. You buy the game and then can play online for free. Each person playing has thier own map downloaded to their computer so there is not a lot of lag tinme. Have had the game for a month and have not had a problem with anyone being rude or annoying. All and all a fun game to play.
Summary: I own this game. Not quite as good as World of Warcraft but still a great game. Graphics are super, game play is fun. The overall storyline isn't as original or as cool as WOW. Missed being able to skill like you can in WOW. You get what you pay for. If you don't want to spend 15 a month, and you want a RPG with PvP than this game is for you.
Summary: I learned about this game while surfing the web. It is FREE, i repeat FREE to play...no subscription. There is a lot of stuff to do and never ending updates. Give it a try at the very least. New expansions coming out soon.
Comparing Guild Wars with other online role playing games.
29 October 2006
Summary: About a year or so ago, I heard about Guild Wars, the now famous MMORPG without a fee, from a friend, and having played (and largely enjoyed, for the most part) a number of on-line role playing games for many many hours, over the years, I thought I'd check it out. I've leveled up several characters, now, and been through all the missions in the initial release of the game a time or three.
