Lengthy Quests

John M. Taylor, Amazon
24 March 2010
  • Summary: The game functions pretty well for a 3-5 year old piece of software. The only complaint I have is that some of the quests literally take several days to complete.

A good game if you haven't experienced better.

lightningstrike25, Ebay
4 February 2010
  • Summary: For the price, Guild Wars is a solid game. Many others would say that it is the best Free to Play MMO out there. Unfortunately, it certainly isn't close to being the best MMO of them all. If you play this after playing a Pay to Play MMO like World of Warcraft or Everquest, you are going to be disappointed because the game just isn't up to par with what you are used to.

  • Summary: This is a pretty good game I was just expecting something new and different from it and it pretty much sticks to the same old worn out story lines of other rp games.

Pros and Cons of buying GW outside of the off. retailer

jax040, Ebay
12 September 2007
  • Summary: Pros: Cheaper, much, much cheaper Cons:It almost always NEVER comes with the Access code, which means you have the game but cant play it. This forces you to pay an extra 29.99 for an Access code, and 29.99 is the actual price of the game from the retailer. Morale: Buy it at Guildwars.com!! By trying to save money, you're actually wasting it.

Some aspects are very good, others need some work.

Matthew Reader, Amazon
29 October 2006
  • Summary: The first thing that should be stated forthright about this game is that it shouldn't be classified as a massive multiplayer online (MMO) game. Much of the game takes place in private zones that approximately 8 people can access at a single time. There are towns and outposts that can harbor many more players, but these are merely gathering areas to form groups for your private instanced area; the vast majority of this game takes place in very small groups that do not...

A cheap alternative to World of Warcraft if you don't want to pay a monthly fee

Lehen, Dooyoo
15 June 2009
  • Excerpt: I still remember when this game first came out, all those years ago. People said it would fail and wouldn't last longer than a few months. How wrong were they? Guild Wars proved to be a contender for the MMORPG crown at one point (before the days of World of Warcraft, of course!) and a lot of people ended up raving on about this new RPG that had no subscription fees once you bought the game.

Cool game, try it out

  • Excerpt: If you're reading this you're probably already aware that guild wars is an MMORPG, similar to World of Warcraft except with no monthly cost, so i'll tell you my opinions on the game. Firstly this is probably the most advanced free MMORPG (when i say free i just mean no monthly cost) and in my opinion the most fun. However it does have its disadvantages which i found when playing it.
