Summary: This is as close to real racing as I will ever get- you can monkey with everything and make it as hard or as easy as you like it. A nice selection of cars and tracks and you can find lots more to add. This is the only racing game I play.
Summary: Amazing graphics. Love this game,. even more amazing if you add a steering wheel with full feedback force and foot pedals. There a tons of add-ons online if you get tired of the cars and tracks that come with the game. Highly recommend it for any car racing enthusiast!
Summary: Look at the release date on this game. Then take a look around the internet (including Amazon) and note how many people play this game--that says something right there. The realism of the physics and environments in this title are still relevant in the PC racing simulation world today, even among the other numerous titles. Sure, the graphics are not as visually stunning as some of the EA titles, but again, consider the game's age.
Summary: I'm not an expert on racing games and I have an inexpensive wheel setup but this seems very realistic to me. I can tell the difference in cars and tracks. Also I am not very good at the game yet but there is enough control of the AI that you are able to always be competitive. I give this game a big thumbs up ( make sure you get the patch if you are running windows 7 and set it to play with WinXP SP2 ).
Summary: GTR2 recreates modern FIA sanctioned sport car racing with sixteen real world tracks and dozens of cars. There is variable weather, night races, and a 24 hour endurance race option (time compression is available if you don't have the stamina for a full day at your computer). Online multiplayer is well implemented and there are numerous online racing leagues out there. There are literally hundreds of extra tracks, cars, and mods for download on the internet.
Summary: First off, this is a racing simulator not a game. If you want a video game action, there are probably better choices out there. But, if you want to experience racing, then this is one of the best if not THE best racing sim out there. You get a bunch of tracks and cars to start out with that you can expand with the hundreds if not thousands of new ones on the internet.
Summary: I purchased this game long ago after playing a demo for GTR1. I didn't even have the computer to fully enjoy it. So, I built a rig and sim-pit just for this game. To sum up what could eventually be a verbose review, GTR2 delivers where it matters most - racing realism. That's not to say I have experience racing in race cars, but the immersion you get from the features GTR2 includes were outstanding for it's time.
