Summary: This is one of the best Simulations out there and it was probably The Best One back in 2005, without a doubt. Just remember that it is a simulator. If you want a fun arcade style game, then look elsewhere. If you want an increasingly hard simulator, then this works. You will need a racing wheel, pedals and shifter to work this game properly. A game pad or joystick does not work well and you loose all the realism.
Summary: I never actually purchased this game. It came free with my copy of RACE 07 (which is an awesome game.) One day I just decided to pop it in my laptop and see what all the buzz is about. Here's what I thought: Graphics: Not as good as i thought they would be. But the rendered screenshots always look better than the actual game.
Summary: Great game.....but be sure to have more resources than those recomended....it is pretty demanding especially if you want to take advantage of all the graphics and details. Dynamics are very good and simulation excellent..
Summary: With a top notch computer and monitor, this cannot be called a game, truly a simulation. With the G25 Logitech wheel, shifter, and pedals this is really driving. Really hard to learn because of it's realism. The driving school is tedious requiring many hours to complete, but without it you just could not compete in the races unless you've had real racing experience on the track.
Summary: This game rocks. I've been playing consule based games for years and I put this driving simulator really high on my chart. The driving dynamic with a force feed wheel is pretty great. After installing the game get the latest free mod and patches of the internet from free share servers. If the game doesn't have a track, then thier a possibility of finding the track at a file server.
Summary: Tech Stuff: This game pushes my X800Xl card to the max, and I'm stunned by this. I can only run it smoothly at 1000x800 with AAx4, compared to Toca Racer3 at 1200x1000 on AAx6. This game uses close to 2gb on your hd, and you better have a nice setup to get the most out of this game. Perhpaps there will be some patch in the future, but I'm stunned that this game pushed my 3.2 ht 1.5 gb of memory so hard.
Summary: GTR2 is a very good driving game and works well with the Logitech G27 Wheel. The driving experience in GTR2 is better than F1 2010, more like driving a car whereas F1 2010 is more like an arcade game. You can get a good set up on the wheel in GTR2 unlike the wheel set up problems of F1 2010 (where a good set up is nearly impossible!), but the only downside is that the graphics are now a bit old and dated, not up to the level of F1 2010.
Summary: Great realism, for the real racing nerd. Graphics aren't close to current console favourites (GT5/Forza) but for a realistic experience, GTR2 is brilliant. Setup changes give real changes in driving feel, strategic options can make or break a win. The 24hr races are a slog, but can be saved and returned to, so no need for Pro-Plus/RedBull cocktails! Good options on car choice from stable handing Porsche GT3's to the knife-edge Maseratti MC-12.
