Summary: This is the only racing game I admit so far. It depends largely on driving skills, and gives a great feeling and experience to the player especially with the gaming steering wheel. GTR 2 has been made with a rare dedication and proficiency. For that and by considering everything else I didn't mention. GTR 2 shouldn't be rated less than 10.
Summary: This is as close to real racing as I will ever get- you can monkey with everything and make it as hard or as easy as you like it. A nice selection of cars and tracks and you can find lots more to add. This is the only racing game I play.
Summary: Amazing graphics. Love this game,. even more amazing if you add a steering wheel with full feedback force and foot pedals. There a tons of add-ons online if you get tired of the cars and tracks that come with the game. Highly recommend it for any car racing enthusiast!
Summary: Look at the release date on this game. Then take a look around the internet (including Amazon) and note how many people play this game--that says something right there. The realism of the physics and environments in this title are still relevant in the PC racing simulation world today, even among the other numerous titles. Sure, the graphics are not as visually stunning as some of the EA titles, but again, consider the game's age.
Summary: Best PC Racing Game of All Time at the Moment. Great content and features with added great game play and modes that include a racing school and a long list of championships to compete. The driving has all levels of difficulty to accommadate all users with all types of controller hardware. Scalable weather and time acceleration in 24hr scales. Great physics and car selections plus the Best PC Racing Game of All Time at the Moment.
Summary: Play it with a Wheel of course. My favorite game of all times. Played it 2500h+ between 2006-2009. Has some shortcomings but Simbin never did better so far. RACE07 and subsequents addons where not as good.
Summary: I'm not an expert on racing games and I have an inexpensive wheel setup but this seems very realistic to me. I can tell the difference in cars and tracks. Also I am not very good at the game yet but there is enough control of the AI that you are able to always be competitive. I give this game a big thumbs up ( make sure you get the patch if you are running windows 7 and set it to play with WinXP SP2 ).
Summary: This is one of the best Simulations out there and it was probably The Best One back in 2005, without a doubt. Just remember that it is a simulator. If you want a fun arcade style game, then look elsewhere. If you want an increasingly hard simulator, then this works. You will need a racing wheel, pedals and shifter to work this game properly. A game pad or joystick does not work well and you loose all the realism.
Summary: My wife bought this for me. I would never have bought it, because I only have a gamepad and this is a true sim, made for a wheel and pedals. You cannot use it "properly" with anything else. I went ahead and tried it, since she got it for me, but it's usless. Even in the training school, you can't beat the instructor, because no matter what the settings for the x axis controller, you end up turning full left or full right.
