Ground Control II delivers a solid and fulfilling tactical experience. While veterans may long for the missing tech trees and unit upgrades, and the slower pace that resource management provides, most players will find GCII's pure reliance on combat strategy to be a breath of fresh air ' albeit a tad too dependent on rush tactics. While it is challenging, new strategists will be well-served by the detailed tutorials and exciting gameplay. These features, combined with... Read more

Ground Control 2, the newest RTS from Vivendi Universal games, proves to be one of the most visually entertaining games ever. It’s clear and crisp graphics, and detailed environments blow you away as you conquer and destroy your opponents. Although the game is rich in visuals and great ideas, it can sometimes fall below the standards of a great RTS game.  So, is it even worth your time? Read more

The long-awaited sequel to the acclaimed Ground Control is here to challenge the military RTS (real time strategy) crown of Command & Conquer. GC2 puts you in the role of Northern Star Alliance Captain Jacob Angelus. The NSA is under constant attack from the Terran Empire and it’s up to you to save the planet. There are two campaigns and a few training missions, the training missions are very good and once you’ve completed them you’ll be in full control. Like most... Read more

Overall, I got a feeling that some of the problems that had plagued the original were sadly once again evident in the sequel; namely the path finding and other AI issues. Conversely, some of the stuff that amazed me about the first game (how well it all looks and how smoothly it runs on my rig) once again dazzled me while playing the sequel, five years on and with all the latest hardware. Ground Control 2 is often shallow, yet offers a fun strategy ride. The AI routines... Read more

There's no doubt that the original Ground Control was one of the first games to define the real-time tactical combat genre, and one of the better ones as well. For those who that don't remember the original Ground Control, it was one of the first games that used a fully 3D engine and it brought in a gameplay mechanic that didn't rely on gathering resources, building structures or researching but was rather a tactical action style game. This is why when the original... Read more

Recently I had abandoned all hope of seeing a captivating RTS. Haegemonia, Homeworld 2 were good, but they lacked something..Warcraft 3 lacked a lot in my opinion. Once I played Ground Control 2 I realised what they lacked: an interesting story, a pleasant gameplay and enjoyable to play campaign. Ground Control 2 (GC2 from now on) uses a system different than the majority of RTS use, although it isn't the first game to use that system. In this game there are no bases to... Read more

This game is the Sequel to the first Ground Control that came out awhile ago. Ther are alot of new things in things and this and alot has changed since the first. Its like C&C:generals but without base building. Your job is to send troops and reenfore them and finish objectives. Its pretty much the coolest RTS ive ever played. Read more
