Ground Control 2, the newest RTS from Vivendi Universal games, proves to be one of the most visually entertaining games ever. It’s clear and crisp graphics, and detailed environments blow you away as you conquer and destroy your opponents. Although the game is rich in visuals and great ideas, it can sometimes fall below the standards of a great RTS game.  So, is it even worth your time? Read more

Massive Entertainment throws out the aspects of RTS games that suck, and gives us just the prime cuts with Ground Control II. Read more

    • Great story; deep gameplay; good multiplayer options; keeps the emphasis on tactics.
    • Only two armies to play; some single-player missions are brutal.

The long-awaited sequel to the acclaimed Ground Control is here to challenge the military RTS (real time strategy) crown of Command & Conquer. GC2 puts you in the role of Northern Star Alliance Captain Jacob Angelus. The NSA is under constant attack from the Terran Empire and it’s up to you to save the planet. There are two campaigns and a few training missions, the training missions are very good and once you’ve completed them you’ll be in full control. Read more

    • Looks amazing., Nice dropship system.
    • The different armies’ units lack any real variety in the weapons department.

Ground Control II: Operation Exodus is an aptly named game because it is all about controlling territory. There is no base-building in the game and no resource gathering – instead the action is focused on controlling strategic points on the map and “special drop zones” used to bring in reinforcements. The result is a real-time strategy game that is very tactics-focused and that delivers fast-paced, and at times frantic, action. Read more

Ground Control was originally released 4 years-ago. Now four years later Vivendi and Massive have launched the sequel to the game, Ground Control II: Operation Exodus. GC2 continues on the tradition of excellent tactical gameplay but also adds a new state of the art 3D engine. It's the first RTS game to really utilize a powerful 3D graphics engine allowing you to zoom right in on the fight and view individual troops in action. Read more

Following on from the game that was Ground Control 1, Ground Control 2 brings a new theme of game to the PC, which many Command & Conquer veterans may recognise. The game features a singleplayer Campaign mode, where you battle through a series of 10 missions for either the Virons, a futuristic-type species, or the NSA, who are the humans in the game. Each campain features a nice storyline, which ties into each other later in the game. Read more
