Summary: Much different that Total War Rome, Not as much about combat as management of the economy and keeping the plebs happy. Has kicked my butt a few times! Only negative comment was the unlock code on the case was so light I had to get a bright light and magnifier to make sure the numbers were right.
Summary: Like others, I read the reviews wondering if this game was worth giving it a shot. Thank goodness I did. Installation was a breeze on my XP. Not buggy at all except when in pause mode while placing a road in a tight neighborhood. Only in Tarraco did that happen repeatedly. Didn't bother to experiment in other maps to see if it can happen there. When it happens, game freezes. So you have to end the process and relaunch to continue playing.

Summary: This is definetly one of my games, with its mix of challenge and fun. It is great because you can't just pick it up, you actually have to play and become experienced to be good. Too many other games just take you by the hand and don't challenge you, while this one gives you the basic tools and lets you go your own way and learn through playing. Sure, you're city is going to burn down a few times at the beginning, but whats the fun if you can instantly master the game.
