  • Excerpt: Delta Force, one of the first and best strategy/shoot em up games. The game takes place in the desert. You are given mission objectives by your command. You must complete these objectives to move onto the next mission. Missions will include killing targets, destroying targets and retrieving information. Along the way you will find an array of weapons and items to help you through the missions including health packs and armour.

Great game, but...

  • Summary: First of all, it is a great game. I've had this now for going on 2 years and the stylised, cartoonish graphics still stand up against today's titles. The gameplay is fun, and new characters and character evolution prevent it from getting repetitive. The polished sound effects and music finish off a polished and often hilariously game. So what's the warning? This game DOES NOT work with Windows XP Service Pack 3 at the present moment at which I write this review.

  • Excerpt: Overview: You control a group of unlikely superheroes in their mission to defend Patriot City. Your missions bring you closer and closer to an evil mastermind who plans to (SPOILER) the entire (SPOILER). Controls: Mouse and keyboard shortcuts. Easy to use and remember. Gameplay: A hybrid RTS and RPG, but the RPG bit isn't quite as well developed as it could be. Each superhero has many diferent attacks and abilities so choosing the right team is essential.
  • Pros: Funny, simple, addictive .
  • Cons: FAR TOO SHORT !  !  !

  • Excerpt: Being a latent comic book fan, the cover of this game immediately attracted my attention, looking like the cover of a Marvel comic with the Freedom Force logo emblazoned across the top and the 5 heroes of the game in a typical superhero pose. Flipping the case over I then proceed to find a little more about the game "The Fate of the World is in Your Hands" Or so it proclaims.
  • Pros: A great game concept, wonderfully executed
  • Cons: none really unless you miss you beauty sleep

  • Excerpt: Well I know its been around for yonks, but its one of those games that I always keep on coming back to,and thats why Im writing this, guess its the little bash um up boy in me,do we ever grow up,NOPE. Now I know violence isnt pc,but on this pc it is? There is something satisfying going around shooting and blowing things up,pitching my skill as a sniper against the baddies,of course its a game, and some peeps like to drive cars, etc.
  • Pros: Good Game to play
  • Cons: Now very dated

Holy socks Batman

  • Excerpt: There have been many superhero games produced in the past, but very few have been exceptional, or even memorable. The majority of games from this genre that have been produced can be found on the consoles and are invariably platform games. A few exceptions spring to mind, one is ‘Batman the Movie’ which was a multilevel extravaganza, and looked and sounded exceptional on the Commodore Amiga. Well my friends, times are changing.
  • Pros: Best superhero game for some time, Download skins, Great eyecandy and sound
  • Cons: Multiplayer not too good

For Freedom!

  • Summary: Finally the curse is broken! This squad based strategy game should pave the way for a resurgence of superheroes in gaming. Bright costumes, heroic monikers and fantastic powers are now yours to play with. You recruit and train a team of superheroes (within the limits of the story) to fight the menaces that threaten Patriot City in a world where pretty much everything can be smashed to bits or lobbed about.

  • Excerpt: Delta Force is one of the best first person shooters I've ever played. It is also different to most other FPS games, not like Quake when you can take loads of pain before you die, in Delta Force 1 bullet will normaly take you down. There is a nice range of weapons in Delta Force includeing some snipers rifles and a very powerful and heavy machine gun.

Dated but still a good buy

  • Excerpt: Delta Force is a realistic first person shooter in which you play the part of a US operative. The game has five campaigns, each with about 8 missions to complete, which can involve anything from stopping nuclear terrorists in Russia to protecting the Indonesian president from attack while he is on tour. The thing which lets Delta Force down, however, is the graphics.
  • Pros: Exciting and challenging
  • Cons: Outdated graphics; Over too quickly
