Looks like FS 2002-04 alot
20 June 2011
Summary: if you cant wait for what they have next, then get this. Dont get me wrong, it looks decent, for a game 10 years ago :p The airplanes themselves look good, but the cockpits look WAY dated.
Pros: MS flight Sim has been the best hands down. This one for its time did not dissapoint. F-18 is nice, but the afterburner on it looks dumb. That ruins everything. But then the carrier landing and takeoff, although it gets old, is a welcome addition.
Cons: OH, its really hard to read the gauges at 1080, its like they didnt think about hd. It looks like junk compared to dx11 games now, crysis puts it to shame, but it is only supposed to be a flight sim. It also really taxes my 8gb of ram, 1090T and 6970, if you put it on maximum settings, High works...
Summary: Each edition of FS seems to get more complex. Often this is not an improvement.
Pros: It Works
Cons: Potential purchasers should be aware that Microsoft has included one-time activation on the disks. This means that, like their operating systems, the program is tied forever to run only on the machine in which it was installed first. Not transferable. Ever.
Summary: Amazon was great in getting the product out. I have a brand new Windows 7 computer that was unable to support the game. The visuals took a long time to load and after playing for more than 5 minutes my computer would blue screen and shut down.
Summary: This Game is listed for Windows 7, but it lockes my computer once in a while. I was checking for problems on Microsoft's website. Microsoft has a webpage were it shows what is compatible with what operating system. Flight simulator is only compatible with Windows 7 32bit edition.
Summary: Don't get me wrong, this is a great game. But I can't give it more than three stars because X-Plane 9 is far superior to MS Flight Simulator X-Gold. While the user-base for both games are still growing, Microsoft is not making any more flight sims.
Summary: I have Flight Simulator X, Saitek Pro Flight yoke with the 3 lever throttle unit, and the Saitek Rudder pedals. This program is just what it is named a Flight Simulator. I thought this program would be more game like. This program is not very friendly.
Summary: From the product promo I was led to believe that this version of FS was substantially more and better than FS 2004. It's not. It's different but not much better, if at all. The realism is a bit better, but some of the control and cockpit view options offered on FS 2004 are strangely missing from...
Summary: The is the second purchase of this game because Microsoft does not like you to be able to reload this game more than one time on any computer other than the one you use. I had a bad crash of my computer and tried to reload this one but couldn't do it. That is the only reason I bought this game.
Summary: Those who use lots of MS Software know that upon closer inspection they generally include warts and blemishes that deter from the otherwise intended result. FSX is no different in this regard. Others have commented on how the actual simulation (flight dynamics) is not true to real flight simulators.
