Very Flawed Product

Summary: I've been flying Microsoft Flight Simulator since the first version. And, I'm a retired airline pilot, having flown real airplanes for almost sixty years. It's installed with Acceleration on a new Windows 8.1 desktop. The program is constantly aborting for no good reason. Some of the aborting is caused by trying to save flights. I have found no documentation as to why it aborts. I fly all the advanced aircraft with the most realistic settings, using the virtual cockpit.
Summary: Bought this for my son and the product key wouldn't install and when we tried repeatedly to get tech help from Microsoft, they were absolutely useless. Had an older version which worked fine, which we replaced with this edition. Microsoft never fixed the problem, nor replaced it with a functioning product. Complete waste of money and would never buy anything from them again if I could help it. No wonder they're not making this piece of junk anymore.
Summary: Just thought that Amazon should know that Microsoft no longer gives help or support for Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold Edition which I bought from Amazon about a week ago. I was informed of this by a Microsoft technician while attempting to get Microsoft Flight Simulator to function properly in my new computer with Windows 8.1.
Summary: Flight Simulator X is falsely advertised as being capable of being operated online with other people, it also advertises that you can work in the tower for air control which would only be available online, but since you are unable to go online in the game, that is Microsoft's false advertising propaganda as well.
So much promised, but so many problems - very disappointing!

Summary: No one should sell, or buy this product expecting it to be a current, functional and supported simulation! As a former pilot, I hoped Flight Simulator X Gold Edition would bring back some of they experiences I enjoyed so much as a private pilot. Certainly the hype lead me to expect that it would. But, after installation, and some pretty graphics, I began to experience many unexpected and unwelcome problems.
Summary: JUST RECEIVED MS FS X AND IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH WINDOWS 7 64 BIT PREMIUM HOME EDITION! I tried all the compatibility settings from Windows 98 thru VISTA + service packs. MSFS X is designed for older Operating Systems and will not function correctly in my Windows 7 Home Premium and High Performance CyberpowerPC. The glowing reviews of this program running in Windows 7 64 are either total BS or else the reviewers have a white cane and a service dog.
Summary: Terrible Flight Sim. The worst Microsoft has ever offered. Microsoft has designed the graphics so there are no third party scenery designers and what you see is what you get. That is not enough. The 3D cockpit panels suck too.. I give this one a 2 out of 10 and apparently Microsoft agrees with me because they have not offered a new flight sim in five years. DON'T BUY THIS ONE. IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY!!!!
Summary: I have used FS2004 for several years and was ready for an upgrade - I have a very nice computer with plenty of firepower and a great graphics card. Loading up FSX was slow to say the least but that is not the biggest problem with this program - it is absolutely the worst gaming program I have ever seen! Thank goodness I only paid 30.00 for this on Ebay.
Summary: The graphics are awesome. The simulation is great. Lots of fun. You get all that....if it works. Beware, if you do not have a stable, up-to-date, top of the line system, it will not work. If you have a computer over 1 year old running XP or Vista, it is most likely will not be stable. If you cannot or do not do windows updates, you are not current. All your drivers, video/audio cards need to be current. Your video card needs to be at least 256 Mb, 512 Mb is best.
