Excellent program

spirittoo, Ebay
8 April 2011
  • Summary: The clouds looks real, the planes are nice, you can add scenery to the program. I'd say it's an excellent way to learn to fly. Well worth having. I haven't spend a lot of time in the program to give lots of details, but I can say the graphics are an improvement over FS 2002. One thing I did notice is it uses way more disc space than it states in the specs. It takes almost 3G of hard drive so make sure you have at least that much.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004

whoa!!.net, Ebay
4 October 2010
  • Summary: As a non flying {for fun} pilot {too expensive anymore} the 2004 version is right on. The scenery is above average, the flight controls are pretty close {use a joystick, you'll be able to really enjoy the game and it'll be more realistic}. Overall, pretty slick and no where close to the cost of flying a real plane. Simple to install, fairly simple to run, enjoy.

Good program. A little clunky on Vista.

New Flyer, J&R
10 October 2009
  • Summary: You can't minimize the window or do much moving around without the program crashing (on Vista). Since it's made by Microsoft, I thought it would be fully compatible with Vista. It's not. But if you're careful not to do the things that cause it to crash, it works OK.
  • Pros: Challenging, Graphics

MS Flight Simulator 2004

Phuller, J&R
29 August 2009
  • Summary: As a private pilot, I've found Flight Simulator to be helpful in maintaining IFR flight proficiency. The weather module is very accurate and very realistic. The aircraft (with which I am familiar) are also very true to reality and the acceptance of various third-party add-ons is also very good.
  • Pros: Easy to Learn, Graphics, Great Sound

95% perfect...

team_nsf, Ebay
31 October 2007
  • Summary: I bought this after FS2002 showed its limitations and FSX just simply wouldn't work on my new PC. It is a definite improvement in many ways, especially the selection of aircraft: Graphics are blow-you-away superior to those in FS2002, more aircraft have virtual cockpits, you get better air traffic around you, weather, you name it...the only flaw is the lousy Garmin GPS.

The Classic Flight Simulator

P. Pfaffle "Waffle", Amazon
10 April 2007
  • Summary: Forget about MSFS-X. A Century of Flight is the only flight sim you'll ever need. As an owner of MS Flight Simulator X, I can honestly tell you that it won't give you any better graphics or performance than 2004 unless you have a $5,000 machine minimum. I deleted MSFS-X from my 2 GHz duo-core machine and re-installed MSFS 2004 and have BETTER performance and graphics. For the full experience, get a CH yoke and rudder - you'll think you're flying the real thing!

  • Summary: Easy to use, yet unbelievable realism from aircraft characteristics to weather. The ATC really adds to the interest factor as well as the scenery and airport detail. I would highly recommend this!

MS Flight Simulator 2004

cir-dim, Ebay
12 November 2006
  • Summary: The old program (2004) is still an excellent Flight Simulator. While the new X program is a greatly improved Graphic representation, this program provides the highly technical input that adds to the skill of flying. It is the accuracy of the flight envelope & all the systems that support it (navigation, communication, etc.) that make it feel like the real thing.
