Summary: Featuring an enhanced version of the original’s lauded physics engine with even faster driving track designs, FlatOut 2 also boasts numerous improvements, enhancements and additions to make the title the definitive FlatOut experience.
Excerpt: It's not often that a racing game has a sense of humor. From the slick but serious presentation of sims like Gran Turismo 4 to the cool, yet intense Burnout games, any comedy that happens in the middle of playing a racing game is usually made up by you and your friends amongst possibly some drinking...
Excerpt: Gameplay is always more important than graphics. You’ve heard that for years from people who interrupt perfectly good game discussions with that little tidbit, then smirk like they’ve just given voice to some profound notion that no one else ever considered.

Summary: As much fun as the Burnout series of racing games can be, sometimes you want something a little grittier and grimier than the glossy, pristine-looking races that series has had on offer in recent years. Enter last year's FlatOut by developer Bugbear, a demolition racer in the purest sense.
Pros: Cars and tracks wreck and deform wonderfully, New plenty of content to mess with throughout the career mode, stunt mode, and online playto the stunt mode, mostly good soundtrack, stunts can be a real hoot
Cons: Overall vibe of the game just isn't quite as engaging as the first FlatOut was, floaty, somewhat generic feel of the cars can be off-putting, a few graphical blemishes, driver launching mechanic during races is barely used to any notable effect
Excerpt: Empire Interactive and Bugbear Entertainment are circling ‘round for another lap of dented fenders and broken windshields in FlatOut 2. The developers have definitely amped up the chaos on the racetrack this year, but there’s a difference between crashing into stuff for fun, and junk constantly...
Excerpt: When I think Arcade Racers, I can't help but think of Burnout Revenge (I blatantly proclaim my love for this game all right?). After that it would probably be the Need for Speed series, followed by Midnight Club 3, but after that, would surely be Flatout.
