Summary: This was my first experience of playing this sort of game, before I'd only ever played the Sims and Fable. And I must admit that I love it. The graphics are gorgeous, the music is understated and there is a brilliant community. My friend spends all his time on this game, making friends, doing missions and generally having a good time. Whilst on the other hand I use it quite rarely and prefer to solo.
Summary: We've all been waiting for the long awaited explanation on the crystal war, which happened 20 years ago in vanadiel, well now... here it is. It's like repetition of the crystal war only not based in the town you can see from the meadows. Anyways it's an ok expansion but SE are still failing. lolsch... wth is with SCH no one likes SCH ffs -.-; and DNC.... please spare us the embarassment SE.
Summary: Some of you may have noticed I've had a very long absence from ciao and dooyoo which only ended a couple of months ago. That's because for a while, I had a new love in my life, Final Fantasy XI online. I've never been into Massively Multiplayer Online role-playing Games much before, and to be honest, I actually doubted I'd enjoy this game. You see it wasn't me that made the initial choice to purchase, but one of my ex boyfriends, Zephyr.
Pros: neverending content, making new friends, lovely graphics
Cons: hard to play solo at early levels, people don't give it a chance
Conclusion: This is a great way for people to sample FFXI, it also has all the data from all the expansions, so if people want to replace the 30 odd cds they currently have it's a great update. It's closer to Everquest than WoW, if you're looking for PVP avoid, but if you're looking for an immensely deep complex MMO, with a storyline that rivals those told in the single player FFs this is a definite winner.
Conclusion: Buy this game, then buy the Starter pack(Around 3 pounds or less online) You will then have the main Final Fantasy game, and an expansion. If you love what you see hunt around for the remaining packs, you can get the chains of promathia, and the other expansion pack super cheap if you know where to look.
One off the few MMORPG still going strong after many years
17 August 2003
Conclusion: Ill start by saying this game indeed needs someone able to put a fair amount of time into it to see results. Like many MMORPGS the principal is the same level a job/race to higher levels to be able to do the harder quest for storyline and equipment advancement. The problem alot off MMORPGS is getting the balance right in a very delicate economy which is vital.
