Summary: It's a fairly decent game for it's time. It offers some engaging gameplay the first couple times through it. But by the time you beat the game on it's hardest setting (which I'd bet the average FPS player could do on, at most, the second go through) it's lost the majority of it's fun. The graphics are still decent by today's standard, and were at the top of the class when it was released.
Summary: This is quite an old game but PC Zone have claimed that it is the most exciting shooter since Half Life. This is a bold claim. The story goes that you wash up on a tropical island after your ship crashes only to find that the island is swarming with armed mercenaries. The graphics were really good at the time but now they look a bit dated compared to recent games but that's to be expected. The gameplay mostly involves you trying to uncover what's going on.
Summary: Made back in 2004 Far Cry is a first person shooter made by Crytek. The game is set in the South Pacific and supports both single player and multiplayer. It was released for the Xbox in 2005 and a sequel was released in 2008. Gameplay The game has you playing as a freelance mercenary Jack Carver and has you working for a reporter Valerie Constantine who wants escorting to the uncharted island Micronesia.
Summary: Single player would be compared to grand theft auto multiplayer to call of duty or counter strike. If you dont compare this game to other games it is truly a good game, but once the ocomparisons start creeping in, it falls short. In multiplayer mode you kill your opponents but its very cartoonish its not technical the gun doesnt have recoil etc etc like other games of its type.
Pros: Good graphics sounds playability story excitement
Conclusion: Far cry 2 mmmm. This is a little bit of a let down but not enough to warrant giving it lowest marks at all. Yes the gameplay is repetative at times and after all the missions you go through a disappointing end. Those are a couple of minus points but on the plus side there is great destruction some imense shoot outs the graphics are of the planet if you have a top spec pc, sound is impressive and the multiplayer isn't to bad.
Conclusion: I didn't play this game until last year. I was never fond of FPS games but a friend urged me to try it. In the beginning I liked it, with stunning graphics (it does not feel 4 years old) and seemingly varied levels. But when the game continues and the Trigens start to appear, the levels don't vary that much. You're inside in some levels, outside (beautiful surroundings) in some, but the feeling I got was "I've done this level before".
Conclusion: Single player is decent and fun though quite repetitive, sandbox play is good fun. Multiplayer is awful, really not worth the time. Get the game if you want a quick singleplayer blast but stick to the big ones for multiplayer.
Conclusion: With this being the first game on Ubi's new Dunia Engine, I think it was more of a showcase of the engine than aimed at providing an immersive enjoyable gaming experience to the player. If it was meant to be the latter it fell short of the mark.
