Far Cry 2

Far Cry 2 is a first-person shooter (FPS) video game that was developed by Canada’s Ubisoft Montreal and was released in the United States on October 21, 2008. This game was marketed as the sequel to Far Cry by Germany’s Crytek even as it features a different setting, a new style of gameplay, and a new set of characters. There are also no sci-fi characters in Far Cry 2.

Single Player Campaign

Far Cry 2 takes place in a 50 square-kilimoter gameplay area set in a war-torn African state. There, two factions (the United Front for Liberation & Labour and the Alliance for Popular Resistance) compete for control over the state.

In this mission-persistent game, the player is tasked use all means necessary to find and assassinate an arms-dealer who deals weapons to both factions.

Multiplayer Modes

Up to 16 players can play the game’s four multiplayer modes via LAN or internet. These modes include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Diamond, and Uprising.

Other Features

Ubisoft Montreal specifically developed the Dunia Game Engine for Far Cry 2. Because of this, the game features dynamic fire propagation and storm effects, real-time night-and-day cycle, non-scripted enemy AI, and a dynamic music system. It also features real-time storytelling, and systemic auto-healing. Apart from this, it allows users to choose from a wide variety of available weapons.

System Requirements

This PC game runs on Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista. It requires at least a 3.2 GHz Pentium 4, 2.66 GHz Pentium D, or an AMD Athlon 64 processor. It also requires a graphics card with a minimum 256 megabytes of VRAM and 1 gigabyte of RAM.

This game is also available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
