Does not work Windows 8.1
26 October 2013
Summary: I have so far spent over 10 hours trying to get this game to work on 3 different computers. It does not matter what I try, it will crash, once I got it to run at all. If you don't have a fully functional computer running Windows XP or maybe Vista, expect difficulties and consider the strong possibility that it won't work without those old operating systems. I am a web developer. I build my own desktop computers and fix laptops.
Summary: Man, I just love shooting the crap out of some poor tribal guy in the post apocalyptic world that is Fallout 3. Pros: Guns, mutants, Beyond Thunderdome playing in your head as you wonder the waists. And Liam Nelson plays your father! Cons: Not one station in the game plays Beyond Thunderdome.
Summary: If you're running Windows 7 or Windows 8 this game is marked as not compatible on Microsoft's website. There is a post on Bethesda's forums on how to get it to work, basically need to make SURE to install in a different directory (e.g. c:\fallout) not the program files because of Windows UAC, disable the multi-core support for on your processor in the fallout.ini file, and run as Admin.

Summary: I was not that big a fan of the original Fallout (oh yes stone the heretic) I found the setting interesting but somehow by the time I reached the ending I was just about finished with both games and I never really looked to replay them again...this had mostly to do with my bloated backlog rather than any dislike for the games themselves but I just didn't find them that alluring.
Summary: This game is absolutely good. But a quick warning that I will add is that the game has issues with quad core CPUs. You have to tinker with the options in the game files. Look up on the Internet how to do that. After changing that option the game is perfect.
