One of my two favorite single player games in the last decade.

Excerpt: This is one of those games I was extremely glad I wasn't working when I played it. I was so immersed into the world that it was like reality outside of the game didn't matter, I spent basically a few weeks straight living my life in fallout 3, and I have no regrets. The sounds, the 50's setting, and the location absolutely sucked me in, in a way no game since Final Fantasy VII / VIII on PS1 did.
Summary: you can't take the gear you've spent the entire game earning to the pitt so it basically is making you start over. I found that to be more of a pain in the ass than "fun". Really annoying add on. I got the add on mainly for the weapon press in the pitt which I ended up never finding anyway. There is no good direct route to the content so if you did find it and wanted to make regular trips it would be a lot of leg work.
Summary: I bought the fallout collection because i loved the first two games back in the day. when the games arrived i put the disk in my computer and it lead me to a website to download them from. I followed the instructions and although the first two games work they haven't fixed the color problem so it will operate on the newer windows os and the third game just doesn't work.
Excerpt: Following in the footsteps of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Bethesda took their open world RPG formula a step forward with Fallout 3. I doubt you'll ever see an open world game surpass FO3 in terms of world detail. It was one of the most talked about games of 2008 and with good reason. Fallout 3 recreates Washington DC in a post-apocalyptic world, and does so in spectacular fashion.
Cons: gamer computers this game is a no go, freeze up every 5-10 minutes and there is nothing you can do with it. If you can turn your cpu down to two cores it will play a lot better or if the game had a way you could load with diectX 9 to be sure it would work better but if windows 7--64bit, over two cores this games is a no go.
Summary: I get 2-5 minutes of game play for every 45 - 60 seconds of freeze. Some point to Win7 or Quad core processors or sound drivers as the issue. I've tried all the fixes to no avail.
Pros: Graphics are nice for an older game. Story and game play are engaging
Cons: As many bugs as a termite mound. Virtually unplayable due to constant freezing. I've combed the web the last 2 days and there is no help from the developer as others have mentioned. All of the fan driven fixes failed for me.
