Summary: Falcon 4.0 is a stand alone flight simulation of an F-16. It has been on the market for a long time, not an easy item to find anymore. A good simulation, but not excellent of great due to graphics and flight characteristics of the F-16 model. A company called BMS has updated the original Falcon 4.0 and made big improvements to flight characteristics and graphics, and offers the updated version for FREE. There is one catch..
Summary: Let its enduring popularity among the flight sim community even today stand as a testament to its excellence. With numerous mods available that enhance its visuals to more modern standards, fix bugs and other issues, and overall keep the game even more relevant than it would be otherwise, Falcon 4.0 will not disappoint and remains one of the greatest most challenging flight sims ever.
A fantastic military flight simulator for fans of F-16
2 May 2014
Summary: Want to fly a Falcon Eagle ? This product is for you ! Falcon 4.0 is the reference among military flight simulators. With time the original version is outmoded but its programming and F-16 interface are realistic and detailed. However you need some habit to master all controls and devices (not only the use of each knob of the cockpit but also Ramp, flight and landing procedures, TACAN, ILS, radars, weapons, etc).
Summary: After 10 years away from flight simulators I purchased this. Great memories of Falcon 4 commanders version I use to love even with the bugs it had. Allied Force is a fantastic simulator of the F-16. Don't expect a typical game, although you can tone down the difficulty, the true enjoyment is found in the authentic settings.
Summary: 1st post on this game. Great, easy to install,if you want to hurry and get in the air,you can. if you want to learn the details on the sub-systems,how they operate, range, ect. this is the game for you. I will be quite busy learning the details in the 400page book that came with this game,I must read up on weapon & radar systems, they are real complex & I must read idiot manual but I admit that I skipped past basic flight chapters.
Summary: This game is still great even after so many years. I first tried this game in may the 1st. I spent the weekend reading about navigation, instrumentation and learning how to use my Saitek X52 Pro system. In the first weekend I passed through all the first 10 trainings (out of 30) and I must say that it is a lot of work! In my second weekend I read about Instrument landing, A-A radar, how to lock targets and the AIM-9 and AIM-120 AA missiles.
Summary: To those of you who are looking for a quick and easy game to play without any real time commitment or those who are looking to just blow something up, leave the page and dont waste your money. I first bought this game when it came out years and years ago and it is still more detailed and difficult than most of the newer and more advanced flight simulators out there. Of course there are a few glitches even with the latest patch but what game doesnt have them.
