  • Excerpt: A child's life has been irrevocably changed. Will he grow up bitter and twisted from this incident or become a shining example of good? What about neither? Those decisions, and many others, are in the hands of the player. A plethora of choices await those who play out the life of this boy. Originally released on the Xbox, the game was remade and released on both the Xbox and PC as Fable: The Lost Chapters , with new content not included in the original Fable game.

  • Excerpt: If you played the Xbox version (2004), then you're well aware of what Fable is about. If you haven't, Fable is an imaginative and unique role-playing game that presents moral choices throughout the course of the story; it's not just about running around the world and killing creatures. As you can probably tell from the name, the PC version adds a considerable amount of new content to Fable, in terms of new quests, new weapons and accessories, and other new elements.

Fable: The Lost Chapters

  • Conclusion: In a way, this title has restored my faith in Lionhead, and now I await impatiently their next game, The Movies . They bring to the gaming industry a bit of heart and soul, a bit of enthusiasm, and that is always a good thing in my book... even if too much enthusiasm backfires sometimes.
  • Pros: Great, compelling storyline, beautiful graphics, soundtrack, spells and spell casting, humor, character, side-quests;
  • Cons: Linear map design, melee combat and stats system too simplistic, some redundant features that could've played a bigger role in the game.

Fable: The Lost Chapters Review (PC)

6 January 2007
  • Excerpt: Great for the adventurous gamer Fable is an outstanding role-playing game which puts the main player into the land of Albion. As a young boy you get the first taste of how your actions can affect the world and people around you. Throughout the game you will encounter strange places, people and creatures as well as hundreds of mini quests you can take while you’re not doing the main quest.
  • Pros: Beautiful, lively and adapting world, outstanding role-playing system.
  • Cons: Main story and quests are too short and single sighted.

Fable: The Lost Chapters

Gamecell
21 October 2005
  • Conclusion: The second problem is that even though the game tries to portray an open sandbox world when it comes to the missions and story it is far too scripted. If you fail a task then it’s time to try again – the game makes no allowance for branching the story should you fail a mission or kill the wrong person. Its no Morrowind as far as this part of the game is concerned.
  • Pros: Possibly best looking PC game yet, A really enjoyable RPG, Nice believable game world
  • Cons: Save system just does not work, It’s not as clever as it thinks
