  • Summary: Perseus Mandate is a fun DLC and the funnest one i thought beating extraction point and better than the main game sure its short around 4 hours and you can do everything and the bonus missions but there more in it than the F.E.A.R 1 there more weapons way more character models and change of environments most things all still stay grey but it feels better and alot funner. Worth Playing for F.E.A.R Fans.

  • Summary: You're not the main dude so it kinda takes the edge of the immersion factor if you have been following the series. Still it is Fear and Fear is quality through and through from the story to the gunplay.

  • Summary: "Been there, done that" is what I was constantly thinking to myself as I played through this expansion. Released 2 years after the original FEAR, Perseus Mandate shows now effort to introduce anything new to the series. You get 3 or 4 new weapons and a couple new enemy types but everything else is the same. The levels are repetitive and there is still grey everywhere.

  • Summary: An good example again how they turned an great Title into an money milking cow. From the beginning i could already tell there wasnt put that much effort into it like in the previous two games. There isnt much to say about it. It just feels dull and boring. AI is also in coma. It was just a cheap and easy way to make money from the fans. I feel sorry for all the gamers that bought it at full price including me.

  • Summary: The original FE.A.R. is one of the best FPS games of all time. This...this is not. The writing is horrendous, the scares are far too in-your-face. Somehow, they screwed up the core gameplay of FEAR (who would have thought that was possible?). They made a good amount of battles completely unfair. Difficulty and fairness are two separate things. The original F.E.A.R was difficult, but never unfair.

  • Summary: In a way, Perseus Mandate is a lot like Half-Life: Opposing Force. It's an expansion that takes a good slice of the base game and adds a lot of original spices to it that can surpass the base game itself, rather than just be a boring run-of-the-mill expansion. I was hoping F.E.A.R. Extraction Point would be more like this one, where you play as a completely different character and get a nice new perspective in the game's universe.

  • Summary: DO NOT let the metacritic score steer you away from this game. I loved the original F.E.A.R. and beat if a few years back. based upon the metacritic review I was never going to try this or th other expansion pack as my backlog is already huge and I don't have time for "bad" games. I recently wanted to play F.E.A.R. again but didn't want to go through the same story over.

  • Summary: F.E.A.R Perseus Mandate was so scary, which is the best aspect of this game and I love it so much. FEAR game was create so scary because of the quiet environment, and this is what really shock you because you were so unexpected and suddenly monster came to your back and kill you. It is a bit worst compare to the original game, however I never expect a DLC would have done this much better. It worth a 9, a ten will need to show improvements however I have found nothing.

Not for Vista

  • Summary: I bought the FEAR Gold Edition, and the original game and expansion works great - no problems with installation. It's a great game, made me jump out of my chair a couple of times, spilled my coffee once. I just wish I could play Perseus Mandate.
  • Pros: Unknown
  • Cons: My rig has Vista Premium 64-bit on a 36GB Raptor, another 36GB Raptor for games, and a 320GB Seagate for storage. I've only got ~6GB free on the OS drive, and the game (~15GB) will only install on the the OS drive. After several weeks of emails from Vivendi (tech support) and several attempts to fool the registery, the final verdict is that since Perseus Mandate was developed for XP, there is an incompatibility issue with Vista. Tech support suggested two solutions 1)...

Garbage!

  • Summary: I'm a huge f.e.a.r. fan. I have all of them for the PC...but this one had to go. I tried to like it...it was really boring running in big arena type levels over and over shooting for no reason. The voice acting is terrible and made me laugh. They like to swear alot in this one..like there trying to be cool or something. This game did make me laugh really hard though. This game is very forgettable. Don't buy this game! You will regret it!!
  • Pros: None! This game is terrible! They managed to give the games graphics worse than the original fear. This game is like playing and shooting with bots in a deathmatch over and over agian. Poor level design and everything else. Terrible!
  • Cons: I wasted my money..had to sell it. I beat this game in about 4-5 hours, nothing scared me with this one..I think I saw the girl in the red dress I think twice? There are not really any jump out scare moments in gameplay. I can't remember one...except one which was expected, I turn around and boo a person..then it disappears...very scary.(puts eyes up in the air) This game sucks and it doesn't even add to the story, it just tells you things you already know from the fi...
