Summary: Fear was a good shooter with some creepy scares .... not much else. There is almost no story development, in fact if the shooting was cut out the game would last 15 minutes. The Good: As a shooter it is great with a even difficulty curve and fair play. The devs didn't cheat much and when the Point Man died it was because of a mistake I made. Atmosphere and graphics were great even by 2010 standards.
Summary: Okay, what I want to know is this: All you five-star raters out there, are we playing the same game? This game has got NOTHING on Half-Life 2, and it is so incredibly mundane. I felt like I was on the same level for the entire game...same rooms, same enemies, same crates. Yes, someone else's review alluded to the crates everywhere, and that person was perfectly correct. There are stupid crates everywhere. The game-play is WAY to easy.
Summary: I thought the gameplay was great, but the story was awful. Play Half-Life 2 for five minutes and you quickly have an interest in the story and the characters, but after finishing this game I didn't care at all what happened to the story or the characters. I thought when they brought in some npc's that they would start to develop those things, but I was to be disappointed. The environments aren't anything interesting either.
Summary: Overall, this seems like a fun game. The AI is quite good (enemies will hide from you when under attack, they will yell out "flashlight" if they see your flashlight, etc.). Read other reviews if you're interested in the game play. My biggest gripe is that it really taxes my system. I'm about halfway through, but I'm about ready to call it quits because my system keeps freezing up when I play it. I have a 2.66 ghz Pentium 4, 1 gb of RAM and a 128 mb AGP Radeon 9600 Pro.
Summary: I bought this game after trying the demo, thinking the demo was a sneak peek at what would be an even better final commercial product. What I didn't realize was that nearly everything in the commercial product was already seen in the demo. The same bland environments (3 total) The same enemy (nothing but guys in black body armor) No real in-game plot. No puzzles, no non-weapon equipment. Very little suspense.
Summary: I am frustrated with this game because the graphics leave a lot to be desired. I was expecting a whole lot more based on all the hype. I have a Radeon x850 XT Platinum Edition video card with all the graphic setting maxed out, and this game still doesn't compete with Far Cry, Chronicles of Riddick, HL2, or Doom3. And you often feel like a rat in a cage, as there is no place to go except exactly where the game has mapped out your next objective.
Pros: Pochi, a mio avviso
Cons: Grafica poco accurata, trama prevedibile e poco avvincente
