THE-Wind, Metacritic
4 December 2012
  • Summary: Made me ill. This game was designed using the latest research on the subject of fear and how to induce it. Very heavy handed stuff; subharmonics, iconic imagery dredged from the collective subconscious, strobe frequencies etc. It's too bad because i liked the game play.

  • Summary: http://fear-community.org/ Fantastic multiplayer Game that now rises again! At fear-community you can now finally get cd-keys again. The gameplay, graphics, gore and fun is awesome, maybe even more fun than counter strike source. And this is a FREE game!

  • Summary: It's really good but the server browser is just horrible. It's so hard to find a game and jump into- even in 2007 this was the case for me. There are plenty of custom servers with mods and normal servers too but it's so much more hassle to find a game that works than on other free shooters.

FEAR Alma - but not this game

schulni, Amazon
5 August 2008
  • Summary: FEAR is a good, not great, game. It suffers from a kind of triage - it seems that the developers did not have the resources to make every aspect of the game great, so rather than making everything just ok, they decided to allocate all of their resources to certain parts of the game.

  • Summary: I've never been much of a computer game player. They seem too much like work, and after being on the computer all day I'm rarely looking for a reason to be on even more. Two games have managed to really hook me. The first one was the original Doom, lo so many years ago.

Fun game, but really taxes your system

Some Guy, Amazon
4 March 2007
  • Summary: Overall, this seems like a fun game. The AI is quite good (enemies will hide from you when under attack, they will yell out "flashlight" if they see your flashlight, etc.). Read other reviews if you're interested in the game play. My biggest gripe is that it really taxes my system.

little on the weak side

Blitz, Amazon
6 November 2006
  • Summary: I am a FPS player almost exclusively and I have been since Doom and Duke Nukum. The game itself definitely kept me wanting to play and kept my interest but some of the breakaway and flashbacks left me with a "could you hurry up" mentality.

Supernatural Spooker

Ethan D Van Vorst, Amazon
5 November 2006
  • Summary: I've heard tons of ranting and raving about this game, and tried to read some spoiler-free reviews on here to give me the scoop about this game. Based on that I opted to go to Wallyworld last night and plunk down my hard-earned $30 to see what all the hooplah is about.

If you needed an excuse to buy a better video card

John Blue, Amazon
16 October 2006
  • Summary: Game Play: Severed limbs! Decapitations! Intense (and repetitive) cursing! Fabulous graphics and great physics. Fairly simplistic and linear game play. No puzzles. Only occasional supernatural bad guys. This is a first person shooter. You carry up to three weapons and up to three types of grenades.
