Summary: Made me ill. This game was designed using the latest research on the subject of fear and how to induce it. Very heavy handed stuff; subharmonics, iconic imagery dredged from the collective subconscious, strobe frequencies etc. It's too bad because i liked the game play. Playing this game never failed to give me unpleasant physiological side-effects. No other game i have played has ever done this me and I have played a lot of computer games.
Summary: http://fear-community.org/ Fantastic multiplayer Game that now rises again! At fear-community you can now finally get cd-keys again. The gameplay, graphics, gore and fun is awesome, maybe even more fun than counter strike source. And this is a FREE game! My favourite gamemodes are Capture Hold, SlowMo Deathmatch, Capture the Flag. There are even some cool Low Gravity servers!
Summary: It's really good but the server browser is just horrible. It's so hard to find a game and jump into- even in 2007 this was the case for me. There are plenty of custom servers with mods and normal servers too but it's so much more hassle to find a game that works than on other free shooters. Overall, the gameplay is quite simple but good. There are like 5 weapons and when you do find games it was fun as hell. It sucks you in and keeps you playing.
Summary: F.E.A.R.is without a doubt one of the best first person shooters I've ever played. The combat is intense and bloody, the visuals are terrific and bloody, and the paranormal storyline is creepy and bloody. Yes, blood and gore are everywhere - and the worst carnage you can manufacture with your array of weapons is nothing compared to the powers of the mysterious Alma to eviscerate all of those responsible for the great wrongs done to her over the course of many years.
Excerpt: "F.E.A.R. is a horror-style first-person shooter for the PC developed by Monolith Productions in 2005. You take on the role of a new member of F.E.A.R., a secret special-forces unit which specialises in monitoring dangerous paranormal activity. On your first mission you are sent to kill a man named Paxton Fettel who is telepathically controlling a band of super-soldiers for nefarious purposes. On your mission to eliminate him, you witness strange occurrences ...
Pros: Terrifying, good plot, very entertaining, graphics
Congratulations, you twisted my interpretation of little girls
22 February 2011
Excerpt: "What do you associate with little girls? Do you associate them with innocence, purity and all things that are happy and wonderful? Yeah, well I do too, well, used to. That is until I played F.E.A.R, the horror game by Monolith Studios, praised previously for their ‘No One Lives Forever’ series, that pits you against their main antagonist: a little girl named Alma. ==Story== You are a ‘Point Man’ of the division of the US ‘F.E.A.R’ division, or ...
Pros: Extremely creepy, really good graphics effects, sound is used to great effect
Excerpt: "I am surprised to see that this game always sells for so little, even considering its age. This is one of the best FPSs I have played in a long time. It fuses the survival horror and shooter genres very successfully, the result being an intense, addictive and engrossing game. It is somewhat similar to Half-Life in style, (another Sierra game,) but is much darker with the occassional nod to HL -- The troops say almost exactly the same things over their ...
Summary: Awesome Game! I haven't finished it yet, but I can tell it is going to become more creepy. The only complaint I have is, when I ordered this game I was expecting the "Directors Cut". However the item I received was the standard version. It doesn't matter much; I still enjoy playing it!
