EverQuest 2

Thunderbolt Games
17 January 2007
  • Excerpt: It’s always challenging to review a game like this, what with EverQuest 2 being a massively-multiplayer, constantly changing online game and all. No two experiences are ever going to be the same. I may love EverQuest 2 , but you might hate it if you pick it up and try to play. A lot of the game boils down to how you particularly choose to play it.

EverQuest 2 Review (PC)

About.com
27 August 2006
  • Conclusion: As is often the case with MMORPGs, EQ2 is getting better with age, and other games are clearly influencing the direction this title is heading. By any measure EQ2 is one of the best games in its class, and it has carried on the EverQuest tradition of releasing new content at an impressive pace. For a war between good and evil, the PvP servers are about as brutal as they come.

  • Excerpt: EverQuest has become synonymous with "addiction." Since the original's release in 1999, it has become one of the most popular massive multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPG) of all time. Those who know little about games recognize the name EverQuest - sometimes affectionately referred to as "EverCrack." The EQ legacy continues with EverQuest II, the much-anticipated sequel.

  • Excerpt: Ok here it is: my unabashed straight up comparison of World of Warcraft and EverQuest 2 and how they stack up with each other. While I try and maintain an impartial view while playing games for review, I know that I can not help but insert some personal preference into the reviews. So I want to let you know up front what those preferences are: #1 = A fun gaming experience.

  • Excerpt: With quality competition from games like City of Heroes and World of Warcraft, all arriving in the last year to vie for our monthly subscription dollars, the makers of EverQuest have a much tougher battlefield before them than they did five years ago when the series first helped define the genre. How good of an experience does EverQuest II offer? Is it worth your time in a world awash with MMOGs? Make sure you read Eric's review to find out.

Everquest II

Gamecell
19 October 2007
  • Conclusion: It’s a fair bet that nearly every gamer on the planet has either played or heard of Everquest, and whether you love it or hate it the fact remains that it’s one of the biggest franchises in RPG history. After countless instalments on the PC and a single appearance on the PS2, the series is back and ready to destroy some more social lives.
  • Pros: It’s beautiful - when you’re standing still., Great voice-acting., The funky canvas map you get in the box., Good support network, and regular updates.
  • Cons: Vague quests instructions mean it's easy to get lost., Performance problems - it's difficult to overcome a dodgy frame-rate.
