Reviews and Problems with Empire: Total War - Special Forces Edition
Showing 1-10 of 11
released too early
29 April 2012
Conclusion: The game itself is very cool indeed but when i first installed without any problems , i thought it froze. but it turned out that 10 MINUTES LATER! it actually started. the videos at the entrance worked fine and the graphics seem excellent.
Conclusion: I have fair spec PC which plays other games at max setting with no problems however for some reason EmpireTotal War loves to have video memory errors when I have a battle. I have been on the forums and this is a common issue.
Conclusion: Once you update to the latest patch (1.5) this game is really good and can really give a challange any fans to the total war series should get this and by the way its steam only for some people that may not know.
Conclusion: this is less of a review, more of a warning, don't buy this second hand, unless its never been installed, as it will be tied to the sellers Steam account. and therefore will be useless to you
Conclusion: This game would have been amazing, the only problem is in my case it was SO slow on the campain map, you couldn't fight battles good unless it was two units on each side. If it was as fast as Rome:Total War it would be insane!
Conclusion: This is a game I've been really looking forward to ever since I got tired of Medieval 2 (which really wasn't too long ago as the TW games can last for months!) as I am a massive fan of the TW games and I own every one of them.
Conclusion: I gave this 6 months from Release, I learnt my lesson after MTW2. 3 patches later and its still not there. The AI is still badly, badly broken. Seiges are a joke, the ship combat is a novelty, after you've played one you're auto resolve them.
Conclusion: long loved total war. think the pinicle of their games was TW2. Empire is great and looks good with impresive gameplay to boot. Really want to see a WW2 version. the only down point i would say is that the end of turn takes ages, and i have a 9.7 ghz quad core pc.
Conclusion: Empire Total War is a must for any fan of the TW series or strategy games in general. No other game has so expertly captured the fantasy of armchair general and gaming enthusiast. Epic battles, grand politics, a vast campaign mode with endless replayability, what more could you want?
