Summary: I really enjoyed this game. I thought the story was quite similar to Princess Isabella; both games had the witch as the villain and the people in the town/castle were cursed into spirits/ghosts. Gameplay were very similar too which involved finding objects from a list & finding inventory items to complete tasks and solve puzzles. There were many hidden objects scenes and plenty of inventory items to collect.
Summary: Actually a 3.5, but I could not justify rounding up to 4 stars. The game is pretty, and the HO scenes are well done, with three modes of HO game play- finding items on a list, putting items back, and finding all the crowns or arrows in a scene. The game is a much better lengeth then the first game, and I was worried because I thought it would be over about halfway through the game and was plesently suprised to have a twist thrown in.
Summary: Very good, but it is interesting to play Echoes of the Past: Royal House of Stone first, I played in reverse order, with no problems but would have been more exciting. Beautiful graphics and challenges. I loved it !!!!!
Summary: Only 2 mild cons on this game for me, 1/ not seeing the results of puzzles I skipped and 2/ something that is seemingly more prevalent these days the darkness of the scenes. I realise the darkness is to go with all things haunting, castles etc but seriously we need a bit more light on the subject we haven't all got 20 year old eyes and having said that my eyes are not that bad and I do have new glasses but I really strained my neck and eyes at times to try and see better...
Summary: Castle of Shadows is well named for this game! At times I felt like shining a searchlight on scenes to brighten it up!! Storyline was practically non-existent. The twist in the middle of the story was clever. Bonus chapter is not worth the extra money. A map would have been useful as I got lost a few times. Music was on a loop and got monotonous after a while. The silence with all the background noises was more effective and creepy.
Summary: Great story and excellant graphics. The cons are --if you skip a puzzle, you don't get to see the solution and what's really funny is---the voices of those speaking do not match their appearance.
Summary: Very well done game. The graphics were very nice and the story interesting. I enjoy these HO/Adventure games so much that my husband thinks I am adicted. Could be! These games are getting better and better....so much so, that I can't give a 5 star unless it is so much grander then the rest. It seems that this sequel indeed was so much better then the original. Way to go on the improvements.
Summary: For me, if the game play and or graphics are no good, the story line is most important. This game had a very simple story, but it was more of a goal oriented game rather than anything else. With great puzzles, and excellent graphics as well as some variation on the usual hidden object theme (replace the objects where they should go), including some rather cute and subtle animations when you get it right, it made for a very good game.
Summary: Was I the only one who thought there was no actual story here? You meet these random people throughout the game, they give you these random objects, but there was no plot, no suspense, no wanting to know what happens next or what will happen in the end. You KNOW what's going to happen from the very beginning, and it was booooorrrrrrrrrrriiiiing...
Summary: Excellent adventure HOG game. Loved the mix of puzzles to solve and finding articles to help you solve them. The HOG scenes were nicely drawn and nothing was impossible to find but it was still a challenge.
