Summary: Please be very careful !!!! I have no activation code the manual is on the disk but when you read the manual the code box is blank no code to put in. They have my money. I have a disk that i cannot use . Guess who the winner here is.
Summary: What can I say about the Paradox company. I feel completely ripped off. The game came with no manual, information or customer service. I knew when I ordered this game that it required online activation. The game came with no serial/activation number to even start dealing with the game. A web search left me with NOTHING. no recourse, no customer service site no company information, NOTHING! Seems Paradox just wants your money and doesn't want to ever hear from you again.
Summary: Promises, promises, this game offers little of what is advertised. The main let down is the control, choppy at best, leaving you out more money that you could have used for a much better game , or paid you light bill. Even the tutorials do not work correctly,( a RED FLAG of whats to come). All in all, it must have been rushed into production before the bugs were worked out, and the patch does not help.
Summary: I highly advise NOT buying this game, doesn't Load and will NOT Update After a "successful" install the game failed to load and was "closed" by windows, which happens across the board for Vista users. After spending 45 minutes reading the forums where the game makers blamed the users a helpful poster figured out the solution. Don't try the solution though unless you're an advanced computer user.
Summary: I've played about everything from Pirates over Patrician to Port Royale, and EIC (which was released AFTER those) is by far the worst I ever enountered. You could literally take all the worst aspects and game-mechanics of those I listed and put them together, you'd still get a game which is miles better than EIC. The GUI is awful, the gameflow is awful, the worldmap is awful, the options you have are microscopic.
Summary: Don't buy this game. If you don't trust me, take a quick shuffle through the endless posts from unhappy customers on their technical support pages. Whether this game registers or not seems down to pure luck. Paradox's standard reply, that it must be a dodgy copy, doesn't wash as I actually bought the game here. Anyway, save your time and buy something from a company which employs half decent programmers (which in my experience is any one but paradox!
Summary: Game Play Non Existent - Enter port - Order 5 ships - Combine ships into fleet - Click Auto Trade - Right Click a foreign port - Repeat untill you have sent a fleet to every port - Leave Game running while you do something else for 6 hours - Return - Ta Da!
Summary: ive played the full version and its STill terrible! I love Paradox Interactive games, all of them to date, so was really looking forward to this. Sadly its awful, blatant rip off of Patrician Three, interface is dreadful, and its really REALLY boring. Plus Nitro games have taken everything that was good about these games and got rid of it, quite what the point of them buying it was i dont know?? dont bother, a real disapointment...
