Summary: My experience with this game was being somewhat positive, until the problems started to show up. To begin with, the tutorials should be more complete, there're many details that aren't mentioned and you have to learn through trial and error. I can live with that, after all, whoever lived in the 80's knows what is to bear the fact that there wasn't such thing besides the manuals.
Summary: Please, everyone! Play this game! It is really good! I prefer it to every other PC game! Choose your country, build pacts and forge alliances. Break them, fight other nations, start wars. Capture Indian ports and win the game! Buy and sell goods, to be the richest nation on the Whole East Indian Company! PS: Be aware of pirates...they are hard to stop...
Summary: Now I've played some strategy games in my day but this one has got me - I got insanely frustrated with it months ago and now it just sits in the corner but for anyone with some patience I am sure this game could be some real fun if you devote some time to learning how to play and the tutorial was unhelpful or at least for me - I wouldn't buy it unless you just feel like spending money.
Summary: A disappointment to say the least. Could have been some very fun combat and trading, but this is offset by terrible interfaces, horrible controls, huge amounts of micro-management when in battle, sickening camera controls, daft AI, and a huge amount of bugs. There's still fun to be had, but not much of a lasting appeal.
Summary: This could have been a good game but it seems like it was rushed. It crashes big time right in the middle of a battle and it happens several times. There is already 3 patches out to try and fix it but didnt really help. There is no tech support phone help, the only help you get is in a email that you have to wait a week for and they tell you to do the same thing you have already done. The game has many bugs and forget about online play.
Summary: i like the stategy move enough products to the home office to win the mission. but during the last mission of the grand campain the ports ran out of the main product. To play this game i had to use impulse because my video card didnt have pixel shader. The controls are a mess sometime you click on captain or in port you click fleet you get something else.
Summary: Reviews in here don't do justice to this excellent game. After three patches almost all the annoyances the game is getting bad rep for are gone and what remains is sheer pleasure of managing a trading empire on strategic level with breaks for enjoyable and wonderfully looking tactical level battles. This is the kind of a game you can't stop playing.
