Summary: My netbook uses Windows 8 64 bit operating system. To get the Dungeon Seige II to launch, I needed to download and install DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/confirmation.aspx?familyId=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displayLang=en Now everything is running very well. Excellent game at an excellent price. Happy gaming!
