Summary: Even in 2014 this game still outperform lots of ARPG out there in the market on all aspects like the engrossing storytelling, the exhilarating voice acting, the well-designed combat system and the diversity on looting and questing, I'm enjoying the replay of this game so much even if I just beat D3 and built some characters in POE.
Lack of Multi-player on LAN option a huge disappointment.

Summary: I have the CD-Rom version of DSII from the initial release. My 8 year old boy found it and wanted to play multi-player. I bought the online version...no multi-player (LAN). That was a huge disappointment! The only thing that kept it at the 3 stars is that my boy is enjoying the game. It would have been nice to play over the local network with him...
Summary: Ok, let's be clear - I love the game and played it a lot years ago. But I can no longer recommend that anyone get this game. Seems you now must have Steam to play the game and that is just too much of a hassle to bother with. My son spent eight hours tying to get Steam to run this download to no avail. I will not buy another computer game if my research indicates that Steam is required to run it. I have had nothing but bad experiences with Steam.
