Dungeon Siege II: Broken World

Strategy Informer

  • Conclusion: is a world marred by severe destruction. In the process of picking up the pieces, new challenges await the hero; thus opening a new chapter for another quest.

Dungeon Siege II: Broken World

The Gamers Temple
20 December 2006
  • Excerpt: Dungeon Siege II: Broken World is an expansion game for Dungeon Siege II. While it will let you create a new higher level character to take into the game, it is not a standalone game and requires that you have Dungeon Siege II to play. That being said there’s not really any point to me covering the basics of the game since you either already know them or you’re off to look into getting Dungeon Siege II.

Dungeon Siege II: Broken World

Auracore MediaWorks
13 November 2006
  • Summary: RPG's don't have to believable, they just have to be fun.
  • Pros: Both updating and cross-referencing is extremely easy, including the importation of your DSII characters; main nav and command keys are both easy to remember and come in handy all the time; voice work is again well done; the orchestrated music will get you into the mode every time.
  • Cons: Some enemies can be hard to attack or even see in a cluster as they are very small; the action does slow down quite a bit for story purposes and exploring for items, whilst at other times you seem overwhelmed with attackers; short compared to original; not much added to the multiplayer side of things.

Dungeon Siege II: Broken World

Game Over Online
30 October 2006
  • Excerpt: I'm probably not the right person to be reviewing this, I think to myself as I have to spend over two hours just looking for my Dungeon Siege 2 disks so I can install the Broken World expansion pack over it. When was the last time I even looked at the disks? I can't remember. I can't even remember that much about Dungeon Siege the first, and I freaking reviewed that title. I do remember generally liking Dungeon Siege 1.

Dungeon Siege II: Broken World

Deaf Gamers

  • Excerpt: Requires: Dungeon Siege II Dungeon Siege II: Broken World, an introduction. Whilst hack 'n' slash RPGs have always been tremendously popular, quality titles have been few and far between. When you think about it this is really surprising as the most popular title in the genre, Diablo, doesn't make an appearance all that often.

Expert Review

TheStar.com
19 September 2006
  • Excerpt: Dungeon Siege II: Broken World is reasonably entertaining. The story is weak, and it lacks much in the way of new content, but the combat system and character development activities are just as fun as they ever were, and, in the end, they make up the meat of the game.

Dungeon Siege II: Broken World Review

GameSpot
3 August 2006
  • Excerpt: Even an earth-shattering cataclysm can't stop developer Gas Powered Games from visiting the world of Aranna yet again, this time in the form of an expansion to last year's Dungeon Siege II. Appropriately titled Broken World, the expansion picks up a year after the events in the previous game, where you defeated the evil wizard Valdis and basically destroyed the world in the process.
  • Pros: The new classes bring a number of interesting new abilities to the game, plenty of solid voice work
  • Cons: The quest is short, and the story isn't nearly as interesting as in Dungeon Siege II, most of the dungeon designs are dull and repetitive, dated graphics look rough in spots

Blitzkrieg

Fragland
19 June 2012
