Summary: Short version: This is not worth buying until they pull their heads out of their posteriors and fix some of the major bugs. Long Version: This removes or rebalances pretty much everything in the original. The changes are a mixed bag in my book. Detail below. + No hacked characters/items.
Summary: Dungeon Defenders 1.5 aka Eternity, I assumed some new features, better balance, smoother menus, at least something that should make this better than Dungeon Defenders 1. Instead we got even worse balance, more complicated menus and less features (like split-screen, which i miss the most of them) It...
Summary: I don't understand developers. I thought that new game will be more clear. I was wrong. They added som crap, like useless abilities. Some things work as they shouldn't. It's still hard to understand why one thing is better than other. Spiders don't catch you in a web.
Summary: So I would like to say that I believe the majority of the hate from the release of this game is from the long time players of the PC version of Dungeon Defenders. The players that have spent hundreds of hours farming and leveling and practicing with these mechanics. I am one of these people.
Summary: I logged 1700 hours in the original DD. This version is crippled in so many ways, i don't know where to start. Don't even get me started writing about all the Playverse bugs. Login errors, game disconnecs etc.
Summary: This game looks like its in early pre-alpha state. Constant server problems, connection problems, terrible menus, half of its features disabled, horrible balance problems. Good things: some anti-hack protection finally. DD1 was a terrible piece of hacking trash. That's pretty much it.
Summary: Don't get me wrong, a 6 is not that high of a score for an awesome game. I loved the original dungeon defenders, more like i DEVOURED it. and I like what they did with the maps and the new active abilities here. the only real problem, and this destroys the game...
Summary: Even-though it has some downsides compared to the old DD i really like this version. It got all the best DLC and has cut the crap that was not interesting anyway, they also mixed up some of the original maps/campaign and changed the classes to be more on par with each other.
Summary: It is a terrible rehash of DD. An straight port of a cellphone game where you are required to login into a third party service that is always online. That means no LAN support, no local COOP, there is also, in a mobile gaming fashion, a cash shop in what is now a global tavern, right now it serves...
Summary: Do NOT buy this game. This is a complete ripoff, the devs call it a 'definitive' version of the original game. It is NOT, in ANY way, better than the original. They took the mobile port and ported it back. Really? I had respect for the devs of Dungeon Defenders, but this broke me.
