Summary: Doom 3 BFG edition is not strictly a great game, but it at least reaches a level of decency, in my eyes. The game is not merely Doom 3, but also includes the original and Doom 2, which are great games on their own.
The Doom 3 BFG Edition works quite well except for the Mouse functions
10 April 2014
Summary: When the programs that are part of the bundle were updated to work with Win 7 and other newer operating systems. The Mouse function for the Doom, and Doom2 games weren't fixed so they are fully functional, and when I installed the program.
Improved Graphic Version Once you get it to work Online with Steam
8 February 2013
Summary: WELL, the only 3 things I don't like about this version is you have to use it through Steam, The save Games feature of DOOM 3 is very limited, and the game for me was difficult to get it to run initially.
Summary: The Good: Every Doom game under the sun, the original Dooms are classic fast paced fun, Doom 3 is in 3D The Bad: But who cares?, absolutely no changes to any game, no extras at all Doom may be the father of first person shooters, but like most old man, you can't teach it new tricks (or was that old...
Summary: the graphics menu is now very simple (on the PC version), compared to the original. Also, SLI is not supported on this version but then again you won't need it unless your going into 1300 res or above. The other original DOOM games that come with it are freakin awesome!
Summary: I would only recommend buying this game if you want to see Doom 3 in 3D, or you have no qualms about the loss of mods or the censorship. Even then, supporting a move like this is difficult to justify. How much you lose by buying this version is very noticeable versus what you could gain.
Pros: Pros - - The new high-resolution textures. Running on ID Tech 5, the RAGE engine, this game looks even more gorgeous now than it did back in 2004. - Five games in one. You get Doom 1 (Ultimate) and 2, Doom 3, Resurrection of Evil, and the Lost Missions. If TNT and Plutonia from Final Doom were in...
Cons: Cons - - Censorship. I've noticed a lot of this while playing, mostly in the original Doom games you get with this title. The red crosses on med-kits and stim-packs are now red/white pills, and the secret Wolfenstein maps have been heavily censored, removing all (censored word) references/images,...
Summary: I've been a fan of the original releases, I have them all somewhere, thought I'd enjoy to play through this, however, the hardware, specifically the video card required, will force me to upgrade. My fault, should have done more looking at the requirements before purchase.
Summary: Growing up playing Doom 1 & 2, I remember being wowed and coming back for more with those games. I remember maps being interesting and fun, offering detailed environments in a FPS that revolutionized the genre. That being said, I feel very underwhelmed with Doom 3.
Summary: "Remastered" is the wrong word, its just a re-release targeted towards consoles, the textures are poor and blurry, there aren't many graphics option for PC users, even with the AA maxed out it still looks blurry and the sharpness is not there what the original Doom 3 had, the lighting is bright and...
