Summary: Agree that if you have, or can get ahold of, the original Doom 3 this is a waste of money. Steam DRM locks the game to your account so you can't resale it. The PC graphics aren't upgraded that I can see. Some of the game play is different and less challenging then I remember. The Lost Mission is OK, but nothing really new. The biggest problem I have with this is you can't use any of the mods/maps that have been developed over the years.
Summary: I just popped in Doom 3 BFG, expecting a refreshing, new, modernized version of the last. Perhaps, something that would parallel the mods for the original. What we got, is an exact remake, with added checkpoint system, a shoulder mounted flashlight and an extra mission. This does not make any sense. They have essentially stripped the mod support, and left us with a very, original experience, with little option for otherwise.
NOT supported by XP, game must be downloaded through Steam.

Summary: For your 30 bucks, you get a dvd with the steam installation files, no game installation files whatsoever. All you need is the activation code off of the little folder from the dvd box. Massive download, they could at least have had the game files on the disk, with a requirement to activate them through Steam. If you don't have a fast internet connection, forget about this. Also, it still says in the ad it is supported by XP, which it is not.
