Excerpt: Cecil, a Dark Knight from the Kingdom of Baron, loyally serves his king and becomes commander of the Red Wings. However, when the king orders him to steal a crystal from the town of Mysidia, Cecil begins to question the king's morality, and ultimately forms an alliance of warriors to oppose Baron.
Excerpt: This review is based on the original SNES game released in the USA. Final Fantasy IV appeared after the series' great success on the NES. This time a larger central story and even individual characters with strong personalities made their appearance. The forth game in the popular series follows a Dark Knight as he abandons the corrupt kingdom he once served in hopes of turning to the side of light.
Conclusion: An AMAZING game, its sort of a light hearted witcher style game. i was worried that it was going to be a let down like sacred 2 but its really not. i think this game is a must, especially if you have the right pc for it.
Conclusion: An amazing RPG. The character customization as regards to fighting style is well thought out. Do you want to be a ranger with the ability to throw fireballs like a mage? Not a problem! Pick the skills, level them up to suit you and off you go! My personal liking of being able to change the appearance of your character is left a little lacking, but when it comes down to it, the game and fighting is the important part.
Conclusion: The only problem I've had with this title is the somewhat outdated graphics, but the loads of fun I've had totally compensate for it. It's like a cross between Oblivion and Diablo, in third person view, with the added benefit of morphing into a dragon. Combat goes far beyond clicking on enemies, and there's plenty of ways to customize your hero. Plus, there's loot frenzy in Diablo fashion, and a whole lot of quests that involve exploration and puzzles.
Conclusion: This game has been hugely underrated. Don't believe me - go try the demo. The music and artwork alone are worth purchasing this game. It is a fantastic single player role-playing experience and if you like exploring every nook and cranny looking for loot - it's for you. There are loads of items and multiple ways to play and playing as a dragon adds something completely new again to keep it fresh. Add on coming out Q4 2010 so will keep you busy for a while.
