Summary: It has a great Arcade feel to it and the gameplay has the Codemasters quality seal, but... Yes, but is gets old really fast. It didn't gave me the urge to keep playing. Maybe some day but not now. PRESENTATION: The cars feel great and really balanced. GAMEPLAY: Like i said, it´s a Codemasters game so... 5 stars and both thumbs up!! PROGRESSION: Pretty bland and uninteresting...
Summary: Only derby game on ps3 that I know. It gets repetitive and after a while it's just too easy to win every race. That being said: it's just a lot of fun to play. It's a well made derby game. I like racing but the cars have to be able to get damaged to make me feel engaged. This game does that.
Summary: First of all we can't campare this game to FlatOut (in my opinion FlatOut 2 is 10/10). But Dirt Showdown is also very funny. Graphics and the gameplay are good, with cool cars and nice challenges.
Summary: I'm a fan of arcade racing games, I really like to play them. This was not a joy for me however, as the levels and tracks were very uninspired and left me wanting for the days of Destruction Derby and Vigilante.
Summary: Think of Showdown as an arcade game or a large expansion pack for DiRT 3, and then it becomes feasible for around £10. Otherwise it's a bit of a letdown. I love the other games in the series but Showdown is just a compilation of the bits in between the intense rallying. These kind of events make sense as a fun break from the serious and technical driving, but to have an entire game dedicated to it is just boring.
Summary: Well, I like a lot of driving, race, simulation or "whatever with a car" games. And I really dislike this one. I bought it eyes closed because of the good reviews and I really regret it. This game is just annoying. No licenced car (only two brands in the annoying drift mode). The races are all the same. The AI is lame. The menu is confusing, even the music is bad (And I like rock/metal stuff). The graphics are good, because all the car games have good graphics in 2012...
Summary: As much as I love the other DiRT games, it pains me to say that Showdown really was a let down. The uninspired tracks and modes made it feel like a discount version. And the lack of licenced cars. It does look pretty, but that doesn't really save the game from feeling like a cheap money maker by Codemasters. Considering the usual standard of Codemasters' games, this title really doesn't qualify as a DiRT title.
Summary: In many respects, Dirt Showdown is a divergence from the rally racing core that has defined the series since its inception in 2007. Edge of your seat control has been replaced by a simplistic handling model, perfect for arcade racing. Hence this is more like Destruction Derby than Dirt. Whilst doubts were surfaced beforehand as to the competancy of the collisions, the game still remains good fun.
