Diablo II expansion: lord of destruction
12 July 2010
Summary: The expansion does what its supposed to: make the game bigger and more playable. The orchestral music by Matt Uelmen and Glenn Stafford is lovely. There are also more people actively playing LoD online than the non-expansion version. However, Diablo is an old game, lets face it. Old games can be fun for the nostalgia, but are routinely frustrating in their shortcomings, so why buy old?
Summary: I have played through it now and I really enjoy playing it. D2 itself was a great game. The only reason that I am not giving it 4 or 5 stars is because it is GROSSLY overpriced. 40 bucks for an expansion of 1 act? As much as I enjoy it, if it had not been a gift to me, I never would have bought it. I understand the new character classes, items, etc., but come on.
Summary: This game is a classic! Bought it just to add to my collection. The problem is, this CD does not work with some of the original D2 games and will tell you it's outdated. I've had to download the game from blizzard and never used this CD actually, so only paid for the CD-key, which is the most important thing anyway.
Summary: D2 was my first game I played with other players at first it was an okish game and they update the servers a lot. I was on this game a lot I liked it untill 2010 or 2011 when they decided to put in annoying spambots in this game so making this game un-playable. Sure you can press N to remove the messages but they come in your games a lot spam same stuff to you. They is only 4 big acts you go on.
Excerpt: "I played this game for over 2 years, and am about to stop as I've got as much out of it as I feel I can. You will garaunteed get many hours of gameplay out of this especially online as it has a massive replayability value -once you've finished the game you'll then want to go through it again on higher difficulty levels which are unlocked, and following that there are different characters to chose from (druid and assassin are new) which will make you ...
Pros: Extremely addictive online play, some new content
Cons: More content needed, many hacks avaliable, too addictive
Excerpt: "The long-awaited expansion pack for Diablo II (so I'm told, I only started playing the basic game last year) adds 2 new character classes to the 5 that were available before, a whole new fifth act, with characters, enemies, quests and rewards, plenty of new items to the game, and alters certain things like the space available to store items, amount of experience given to characters, and the difficulty of enemies. The resolution can be made nicer too. ...
Pros: Expands on the existing game, very cheap .
Cons: Not as enjoyable online, for me . Also makes the game far too easy .
