  • Excerpt: PC gamers have their fill of MMO’s to choose from but at last console gamers finally get a chance to see what it is all about. With a monthly fee attached however, will it be enough to keep the community going or will it be a matter of PC gamers only?

  • Excerpt: Finally! Can I just say that real quick? Finally! It was 2008 when the quirky, over-the-top soccer RPG Inazuma Eleven was first introduced to Japan, and it was another three years before an English version was released in Europe.

Expert Review

GameSpot
25 January 2011
  • Summary: If you've never played a massively multiplayer online game before, DC Universe Online is a good place to start. This isn't just because of the DC Comics license, though that might be what first draws you to this light and breezy take on the genre.
  • Pros: Action-packed combat is fun from the start, Both Metropolis and Gotham City look great, Beautiful comic-book cutscenes punctuate story missions, Changing gear doesn't mean you have to change your looks
  • Cons: You reach the level cap and stop earning new powers incredibly quickly, A variety of interface and voice chat issues, Combat and missions get predictable, Not enough content to keep you invested beyond the free month

DC Universe Online Review

PlayStation Universe
21 January 2011
  • Summary: DC Universe Online is certainly brimming with potential, but until Sony irons out some of the kinks, the various bugs and server issues prevent it from being the triple-A console MMO experience we've been craving all this time.
  • Pros: The production values. Great animation, character models, cut-scenes and audio work, Teaming up with like-minded heroes/villains for co-op play and raids, The addictive and fast leveling up system
  • Cons: The repetitive mission types, Slowdown, getting thrown out of servers and some game-spoiling glitches, The clunky user-interface and chat function
