Summary: When I heard that the creators of Crimson Skies was back with another arcade flight sim, my heart skipped a beat. I was a huge fan of the game to say the least. So I rushed home, copy of Dark Void in hand, and loaded it into my pc all the while dreaming of the epic sky battles I would participate in with my jetpack. The game loaded successfully and disppointment soon replaced my enthusiasm. First of all, the start icon actually led me to an empty "windows" folder.
Summary: Very cool FPS with a new twist...Refreshing in a time when FPS are mostly repitive wit ha constant, and produced more then any other genre of game. I personally am not a FPS addict, or even a abuser, but this game has made me a user...lol. You gotta love the flying around, manuevering with instant trick manuevering...very compelling game play with excellent graphic's, as well as a good story line making this an all around awesome kill, or be killed.
Summary: I played through the campaign, there were plenty of great elements. But they all felt like they needed more time to be polished properly, and the lack of a multiplayer makes it a simple one off, I finish the game and will forget about it.
Summary: bloody hell this game. I literally had to stop playing after the first level to catch my breath and haven't played it since (though in probably should) personally I would say this game is hugely tense as you don't know where an enemy is coming from and when an enemy is coming which a hugely frightening experience when your playing in your pitchblack bedroom with only the light of the game as your companion.
Summary: Enjoyable game loads to do' not a bad story. Seemless flying to 3rd person shooting. AI enemy's a bit easy. Fast paced enough though and enough enemy's to keep it interesting. Who doesn't,t want a rocket pack??!
Conclusion: well from start of the game u cant tell its badly made very poor graphics for a modern game bad control system and terrible sound and voice acting. the idea is great such a shame its so badly made.
Conclusion: Don't be fooled by the low price and a few bad ratings, this game is a great one the story is good very interesting, game play is fast and fun and just overall great flying up high in the air then cutting the power or your rocket pack then free falling and kicking it in again, just fun fun fun! The only downside (TINY ONE) is that at first the flying can be a bit tricky with the mouse, but once you've shot down some alien ships you get the hang of it.
Conclusion: The game is overall good, but its distinctive part is the aerial combat and exploration, with many levels (or parts of them) developing vertically as well. You can also rise up and shoot enemies behind cover during close ground combats, and that's a nice change (be careful though, because you become totally exposed to their fire, too). The controls are a bit clumsy until you get used to them, but they are fine.
